It’s against the rules. History is that Mod 1 will delete them. If there are issues within PM’s, the proper remedy is to send the screenshots to the Mod’s directly not put them on the public side.

Mod 1 can be PM’d directly for the truly egregious. Otherwise, blocking the person solves the unwanted PM issue.

Yes b/c being based in Oakland as a white woman at a probably corporate owned paper that didn’t fully cover the realities of the city totes qualifies one to speak on issues that BIPOC face. Author probably crossed the street anytime she saw a non-white person on the same sidewalk.

The Tribune was a great paper for decades and then in the 90’s it was sold and became part of a chain that provided little local content. I was always a Chronicle girl, so I did,not read “The Trib” after it was sold. I think they even closed the Tribune office in Oakland.

I don’t know … I had a weirdo sending me PMs years ago and I told him that I would be sharing the PMs he was sending me on the thread. That was allowed by the Moderator. He finally creeped off to wherever he came from.

I think if you make it clear, in whatever thread you are on, that a posters PM’s are creepy and not welcome and announce that they will be shared publicly, it is allowed.

Barisone threads forward, everything that I’ve ever seen that was clearly marked pvt, on or off platform, has been removed.

I posted a PM once to prove someone was lying about having not sent it. It was removed when they complained. And then they sent me PM’s taunting about how/why they got it removed. They then later publicly tried to bully me into letting them repost them.

I think you would do best to get permission first at the very least.

Ah… I think the weirdo who was sending me the PMs stopped on his own because he looked like creep and an idiot in the PMs to me and didn’t want to look that way in public.

The Barisone threads were a nightmare for the Mods. I got a few PMs from the K’s on the Barisone threads. God they were weird.

On one of those threads was the only time I’ve had a post removed, and it was a quote from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

I already answered that question. And at the time we were not discussing the DCC. We were discussing Megan, Cardi B and the USEF etc.
But yes if you’re out there shaking your a*** around it’s exploitive and demeaning and especially in the case of the pro sport cheerleaders, encouraging misogyny.
Again, what we as women allow is what will continue.

As far as Snoop etc, he was all over the olympics, especially he and Martha doing the dressage stuff. As far as your other comments, you really do like to assume and stretch, don’t you?

I for one didn’t appreciate Martha just as much as I didn’t appreciate Snoop or the Meghan Thee Stallion ad for the Olympics.

Personally, we are involved in relatively elegant pursuits in our equestrian disciplines and IMHO we should have people representing us that mesh well.

There are plenty of black entertainers that could have partipated in the Olympics and been much less offensive. One immediately coming to mind is Denzel Washington, as an example.

“Relatively elegant” compared to what other Olympic sports? I think your feelings, that “other black people” IE those who conform to your view as living up to the “elegant pursuits” of Equestrian sports, should have been chosen, is snobby. I suppose it’s Denzel Washington’s elegant voice rather than Snoop’s hip hop style of speaking that you prefer.

I don’t recall anyone “behaving like trash” while the commenting on any of the Olympic Equestrian sport broadcasts.

I dislike hip-hop personally, not a fan, but I’m not a fan of Martha Stewart either. I thought the interviews with Stewart and Snoop were uninteresting, but not offensive at all and I bet a whole lot of people, especially non-horsey ones, thought they were great.

None of the three people being complained about here were actually commentators during the rides.

Not compared to any other Olympic sport at all.
If you want to make a comparison then do so.
The equestrian disciplines are elegant on their own.

As a former H/J and Dressage rider and lifetime horsewoman, I didn’t know LGBTQA+ folks needed to be encouraged into the sport. Next to theatre, it has always been a safe space to be, in my experience . Call me still confused

Remember the free Fan memberships which USEF pushes. Raises the membership numbers with people who IMO are really not members, but makes the bottom line look good for USEF.

Understood. I’m still waiting for documentation of the “21% attrition” that occurs year over year, as the OP has stated. She claims this is from competing members, and I can not find that in the reports.
