Has anyone tried the CEECOACH Communication System?

I’m looking for a good headset system for coaching my students at shows. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this system and what their thoughts on it are? Specifically, how is the sound quality and is it pretty straightforward to use? I’m a little leery of a system using bluetooth rather than the ore traditional radio style but it does look interesting.

Thank you in advance for any input!

I have it and I really like it. It’s very clear and loud if you want to crank up the volume. My students can hear me really well even if I go into the barn to get something and they can also talk to me through out the lesson which they could not do with the other set I had. It does echo if your standing right next to each other but I just turn it off if I need to walk up to them. I haven’t had to try this yet but I love that you can coach 4 students at the same time. We plan on getting a second set so when we go to shows I can coach a couple of students at one time and they will each have their own unit so we don’t have to share. I had another brand before I got this one but one broke in the first year and we couldn’t get it fixed. The sound wasn’t the clearest and It also ate batteries. This one I have yet to charge it and I have had it since April. I haven’t taken it to a show yet but I can’t wait until I do. I really am happy with it.

I bought it at World Cup in Vegas in April, and have been using since then. I love it (although mine’s certainly needed charging since then!), and this week my coach is here from Holland, and he’s now a fan, and will purchase a set in Germany when he gets home. My only criticism would be that wind can create quite unpleasant feedback - the mikes have no buffer for that kind of noise.

I have it and I love it! Used it at a clinic and it kept the charge all weekend through all the riders.

Thank you so much guys! That’s all super helpful. I think I may have to give it a go!

Has anyone used more than one student? I’m returning the second pack of two because I can’t get it to connect with the moderator as two more students. Like it otherwise.

Is the head set only for one ear? If so, does anyone like/dislike that feature, and can they hear well?

Thanks!

Looking to replace my bulky SENA headsets with something a bit more streamline.

Do what video photographers do to cut down on wind noise…they put a little piece of ordinary thin sponge material (you often find this material covering fragile stuff in their shipping boxes) over the mics on the cameras. You could do the same, covering the mic on the CeeCoach.

The headset is just one ear, and it is fine for hearing the instructor. You can also use it in either ear if you are more comfortable left or right. I wouldn’t use both ears, unless you are in a ring alone, for safety reasons. It will be harder to hear other horses nearby or anything else going on nearby that might spook your horse.

If you really want two earpieces, or if you have a particularly comfy set of earbuds you like, you can use any headset with a standard jack.

WRT wind noise - the headset does come with a little foam cover for the mic that helps, but it comes off rather easily. And then gets lost. If I find another I’m going to loop a braid band over it to help it stay on.

I just bought one. I like it because you don’t have to read past p. 1 in the manual to set it up and start using it. lol.

In all seriousness, the clarity is very good and the headset is comfortable. I tested it out during absolutely horrible conditions at Dressage at Devon and found that it does a great job. There wasn’t a lot of noise from wind, etc. The foam cover for the microphone seems to work well.

Agree with your first statement SnicklefritzG!

ROFL!!!
and so true! I bought mine and then the trainer at my barn bought hers a couple of months ago. She had me set it up for her, which I thought was funny because it literally takes 2 minutes to do (after you charge them)…1 minute to unpack and assemble and 1 minute to set up/ assign the devices!

I did lose one of my foam covers when I lent it out for a clinic, but I can buy a pack of them on amazon.com.

GENIUS!

Ceecoach for jumping

Hi, Has anyone used the ceecoach for jumping? Does it work well?

I just picked up this system at Dover and I’m slightly debating returning it in favor of the One K system that more clips into your helmet. Does anyone have any opinion about the comfort of this on your ear? The mouthpiece looks so far away from your mouth, I was glad to hear that the sound clarity was good!

The current system we use is fairly old and the earpiece/headpiece is much too big for me so it’s quite uncomfortable to ride in but my barn is all hooked on wireless communication now and I want to get a bit of an upgrade. Has anyone compared the Ceecoach to the One K? And used the Ceecoach to connect to your phone/music?

Thanks for all the info and for posting OP!

I tested the CeeCoach system during a downpour when I was at Dressage at Devon last year. I was inside with one headset and one of the salespeople from the booth walked out around the grounds. I had no trouble hearing what was being said in spite of the wind and rain.

It’s a good system. The headset it comes with stays in one’s ear fairly easily which for me is something since I have small ears and almost nothing else fits properly.

Bumping this up to ask if anyone has used this system with speakers?

I have come up with a few ways I suspect I could make it work, but am looking for methods which have worked. My trainer bought these and we love them especially when it’s windy and we have trouble hearing him, but he also holds clinics and we’ll need speakers for those. Since it’s holiday time, it seemed a good idea to check into…

And it’s on sale, here is a notice for 15% off all Ceecoach through the 11th. From Dressage Extensions.

I am ordering this. My Eponaire system is four years old and has some drawbacks. I prefer Ceecoach at this point, it’s what we are mostly using in our group.

My trainer said if anyone (meaning me, I think) is willing to read the instructions thoroughly enough, then all our Ceecoach sets will be able to interface.

Then she can teach multiple people at show warmups, and also she can teach me using my end of my system and her end of hers. Since she comes to me from another, very nearby, barn, it will make it easier if we can work that out.

As a student, I like it very much. Comfy earpiece and doesn’t fall out.

I have for a Lucinda Green clinic and for my regular SJ lessons–it is fantastic to be a hundred yards away and be able to get feedback in the middle on an exercise. I love it for both jump and flat lessons. The only thing I don’t like is the clip; it’s both difficult to clip on one-handed and breaks easily.
