Kind of off topic, but does anyone know where Todd is based in Wilmington, or the name of his barn?[/QUOTE]
Find the rich women of this world and you will find Todd crawling around them

Someone may want to tell these women that they may be wasting their time
“find the rich women”
[edit]
Meow meow.
Sometimes it’s about working with a qualified individual who is a good instructor and has knowledge.
Todd Flettrich is a very nice rider and trainer, an especially good teacher, and he has a lot of very good customers.
And ah, the person I know who rides with him is self employed and works very hard to pay for horse stuff.

slc2 You know so little and talk so much:confused:
[edit]
There are a few hangers on at every barn, every stable, and every trainer.
And ah, from what I’v seen of Todd’s students, they look like hard working, diligent, successful riders.
And HOW IN THE NAME OF dressage do you throw MY friend in with that and include her in your sweep - she’s a very hard working person who is self employed and works hard to have what she has, and she has 3 decades of experience riding at the FEI level and if she thinks Todd is a good trainer he damned well IS a good trainer. And she is NOT a ‘no chance’ rider.
Frankly too, the hangers on at EVERY barn benefit from the riding lessons, many are quite cheerful and supportive of other riders, plus, if they are happy and enjoying themselves, they might be way, way ahead of you, especially if talk like the above is typical of you…aside from that I’m going to guess he’s brought along and showed more GP horses than you and most trainers in the USA have.
Well, I appreciate that, and I’m going to be sure he knows how much YOU know. I’ll talk to Todd fairly soon, and I’ll let him know your opinion, that his customers are all rich women hanging around and that they ‘have no chance’. I’ll let his customers know too, that you KNOW this and that I don’t. I’m sure they’ll think you’re the far, far better person for knowing it.
Too, the suggestions that go along with it, which are that he has no talent and that all his customers just hang around him because they’re wealthy fag hags and can’t ride. Not sure if the ‘no chance’ applies to them being lousy riders, or he’s gay, or both.
I’m always DELIGHTED to find people that know SO MUCH MORE than I do! And I would love to make sure they know your name, too. Then they can directly come to you if they have any questions.
Frankly, my dear, I don’t CARE if a few women in the world are like that, and I don’t give a rip if someone is gay or not and I don’t yet understand why that is such FASCINATING information or even why it’s anyone’s business. Maybe because a few people in this world are just a wee bit juvenile and haven’t actually figured out that 10% or more of the world’s population is gay and SO WHAT.
I DEFINITELY don’t understand why it has anything to do with a person’s training or riding ability.
I’d actually be a lot more interested in how they RIDE, actually, and I don’t give a damn what they do once they get off the horse as long as they show up on time and do what they’re supposed to do and are decent to me while doing it.

Oh my!
I’m guessing that if you called up Todd and told him the above, as you say you are going to do, he will think you are a nut case. This may be your world, slc, but I doubt it is his.
Oh my SLC what did I miss? Where did anyone say anything about your friends?
Slc has a problem with anything that may suggest someone is gay.
Get over it, slc. No one except you and a few other cave people care if someone is gay or not. It’s not a disease.
I still can’t figure out why SLC lost her marbles. What a bizarre post:eek:
Torontodressage posted a fairly insulting comment about Todd…and I suspect there is history between that poster and SLC.
Personally, I thought Toronto’s post was uncalled for…perhaps they were trying to be funny but I don’t think so.
Odd and confusing…the now edited original version has had things removed and somehow still ended up longer and wordier.
I don’t mind if my trainer eats my doritos.

TD - Just for clarification:
Are you saying that riders should not seek sponsorship?
Are you saying only those who can go it on their own deserve the privilege of competing in the sport or upper levels?
Are you saying that there is something inherantly wrong with a person of means sharing their love of the sport by either purchasing and/or sponsoring a rider to compete their horse(s) or take lessons for their own fulfillment

Are you saying that there is something inherantly wrong with a person of means sharing their love of the sport by either purchasing and/or sponsoring a rider to compete their horse(s) or take lessons for their own fulfillment and challenge?
Are you saying or implying that a person of means must not have talent because they choose to purchase horses for another to compete?
Are you saying there is something wrong with a person of means sharing their love of the sport by sponsoring a horse and rider?
In a sport that is growing increasingly more expensive, regardless of level pursued, we all need to give big thanks to those who will sponsor talented riders. Many of those same people you slam are the ones show organizers and GMO’s approach for donations time and again. And time and again they open their checkbooks.
Your petty comments only serve to show how very small some in the world of horses can be.
Shame on you. You do an injustice to many fine men and women.

Thanks! Now that’s funny.
FWIW - My heart goes out to Heather - she finally had a top quality international horse, one she trained to that level. Losing the ride on such a horse must be hard to deal with.
Best of luck to Todd - what a great opportunity for him !

Me thinks at some time or other Mr. F. must have peed on your Cheerios.
It’s a big world out there, lots of trainers, horses, and shows. My guess is rather than waste time with the COTH boards, Mr. F. is busy working on getting that perfect “10” and not worrying about the likes of you. When he does get a super score the polite and sportsmanlike thing to do would be smile and learn a life lesson - there will always be those smarter than you, richer than you, thinner than you, more talented than you, etc. You get the picture. Learn it, live it, love it.
Yet another thread goes in the dumper. If it’s not slickapalooza, it’s the ambery show. Or if we’re really lucky, both together. It is true, sometimes silence is golden. Or the better part of valor or something like that.
I think it’s wonderful that TF has patrons with horses for him to ride Hell, if I had big time talent, I’d be doing the same! But I don’t and I don’t begrudge him a thing. Or his friends with money or that watch from the barn, more power to them for being in a good place to do so!
