A few people gossiping in their barn or on facebook isn’t the same thing as “everybody” feels that way…I feel bad for Heidi that if she searches her name she will see this 7 page thread for someone who didn’t do anything wrong.
In general people should ride more and talk less. That definitely goes for FB as well.
@Pennywell Bay not to hijack this thread, but I am in exactly the same spot! Good thoughts and advice about being happy for others. And, for you, just keep digging deeper and learning from your wonderful new horse.
I was told about by somebody who wasn’t even there that there was a discussion about it and that people thought she shouldnt ride in this class… and the OP mentioned as well… i quoted her post…
Someone gossiped to you.
Maybe you should tell that friend of yours about the FEI rules and about not gossiping.
Just a suggestion since you seem to have acquaintance in common with the OP.
Oh so you think they all did understand the difference and were still against a pro competing in their class?? Maybe you are right… but why would they dislike that idea?? Maybe we should all start to overthink who we like as competition and who we don’t like…
Isn’t that an amazing rule??? It really supports people without a lot of money.
It might be worth a seperate thread.
And just saying in Germany there are no pros and AAs in normal shows… everybody competes against everybody.
If you win or get into the ribbons you get ranking points.
And usually they divide classes according to the number of ranking points…
not sure whether it’s good or bad but it eliminates the word Shamateur.
I think ONE rider misunderstood / disliked the rule, and chose to post about it here. Hopefully she now has a better understanding of how CDIs work.
I haven’t seen any evidence that the other riders in the class had any issues with it whatsoever. And given that at least one other rider (and maybe more) is a pro under the USEF definition, I doubt any of them did.
Maybe not, but I quoted what the OP wrote about it being discussed in Wellington, so obviously she was not the only one and I would assume that riders competing in that class were the ones most concerned with it… and as I said I heard from another source about it as well. But maybe I am overthinking it…
The OP and her friends, and your friend, gossiped.
They have nothing to do with the 9 other riders of that particular class…
Of the 10 AA riders in that class;
5 are USEF pro.
1 is an older German and his wife is on the FEI ranking.
1 is an older lady who is well known in the dressage community.
1 breed and bring her youngsters up the levels and has many awards with her many horses.
1 is Heidi.
1 is the OP.
The other riders were most certainly not concerned in any way about Heidi.
Random question. If I show Eventing FEI, would I then not be able to show CDI ammy?
Also whoever mentioned Megan being a pro and showing ammy CDI there is true, she is a pro through and through so if she fits the rules I’m sure the other lady does too.
