I have read for months all of you talking about Joe Plemmens and Have noticed that alot that is said is uninformed gossip. So i am here once again to answer your questions. By the way I work in the horse biz so I am not an outsider.
You know, I can’t help but feel like I’ve been playing that kids’ game called Operator (and God knows there is no better operator than Joe).

So goldy could be right, Plemmons says Reiter did it but Reiter doesn’t show up in either “Blood Feud” or the other book and except for Plemmons statement seems to have been a very insignificent player. It seems to me it’s much more likely that the Police Chief was the bag man.
Now, if I’m right and Plemmons is a sociopath he would need to stir the pot to get back in the papers. If his business is not doing great he needs to do something to make himself important and you’re right paying $750,000 for one person for one murder makes no sense at all. Or, the rumors were right and this was a big scam to get Bailey out of Jail. Plemmons playing the big guy showing how easy it is to fool the cops and the public.

Is the Plemmons story the first time that Reiter is mentioned as a part of the conspiracy. Let’s say he is just scared to death because as the farrier he knew what was going on and with a family he was afraid to talk. It seems the whole town was scared of Silas. Maybe Silas hired Reiter just so he could scare people and make them think he was protected by the cops but the cop was really just a farrier to him.

Seriously though, I have to concur to some degree with the post by houndsRus. Perhaps stepping away from the computer and finding alternative ways to get anger, frustration, paranoia and other emotions out would be the better avenue. A message one seeks to send to others is lost when the communication is no longer coherent.

I know Heraldo, that’s the one who would want to hear more about Joe Plemmons and the Chicago horse killers and how they moved up from horses to kids and then Helen Brach.

As LLDM has said, I don’t think anyone here thinks there are any saints in that whole Chicago group. I am speaking just for myself here, although I may also be speaking for a number of other posters who support the idea of taking a closer look into Goldy’s allegations.
*I believe Goldy is who he says he is.
*I believe Goldy feels very strongly that his father has been maligned by both the ATF and ABC7 news reporting
*I do NOT believe Goldy’s dad is as pure as Goldy believes him to be, but…
I have a feeling Joe Plemmons was very deliberate in fingering him for the murder, and certainly had ulterior motives besides the altruistic ones he spewed in his interview.
I feel the press(specifically ABC7 and Chuck Goudie) were irresponsible in publically naming him without a grand jury indictment
I am VERY leery of the ATF folks stating that the believe Plemmons is telling the truth, and the murder is solved, based on Plemmons word alone.
I will cut and paste some interesting court documents, and interviews with Plemmons when I get back later today. Plemmons certainly has a pattern of coming out years later to “clear up” things. 
Taking time to examining this angle cannot hurt anyone or anything. If I am wrong, and Goldy’s dad was the Chicago Don who ran the whole shebang, then I have just spent some time learning about how things are done in the Chicago Horse Mafia and I’ve learned, once again, how naive and gullible I am.

I get the proximity issue. He was a cop and around the horse crowd at Jayne’s barn and with Ken. (right?) Did he know Bailey too? He must have known about the Jaynes’ reputations, esp. Silas. What years was he around there?
Do you think he was naive? Set up? Under cover?
After reading the last long thread on this, the folks from here who were around in that time frame say rumors were flying for all over the place for years. What did your dad think the deal was then? What were his suspisions?
