Help! Looking for Jill from Gray Fox Farms

Sold back to Bank of America per the Recontrust…

Well her assets can be seized. It takes a court action but it can happen. And to those who have horses there that she doesn’t own - I hope you have paperwork and contracts to prove they are NOT owned by the Burnells or their farm.

I’d say the mare owners need to get those mares out of there pronto.

i don’t know this Jill person, and , since I have worthless TB’s, apparently will never do business with her (tongue firmly in cheek, lol). but beyond the property size, and the care the horses may or may not be getting (from NY, how can i know?), the legal issues that she’s having would be enough to scare me away. it’s not like this is one person filing lawsuits against her, this is a series of vendors, suppliers, etc, that have all filed claims against her. and that raises serious red flags for me. if she can’t pay her feed guys or her vet, how is she caring for these horses? it’s a logical thought process, whether you know her or not.

Ranch has been FORECLOSED

So, Jill no longer owns the ranch. Wonder where she is going to put all of these horses. She JUST aquired another mare.

Amazing… wonder if she is going to mention a “relocation” on her blog?

Well, 4/2/12 was Monday, doesn’t the sheriff come by 24 hours after the foreslocure sale to put a big giant padlock on the front door , and board up the windows???

Too late, she should already be outa there.

Timex - I LOVE TB’s and my Warmblood breeding business was built on a foundation of super TB mares with great long distancing running lines. Three mares that have since passed but have fortunately passed on their best to several generations.

In CA, not usually… some times the foreclosed stay in their homes as “squatters” for months (my old neighbors were foreclosed on and stayed for 6 months before the bank booted them).

It depends on the bank, it depends if the bank thinks it can sell the property quickly, or if there are liabilities for letting the foreclosed owner stay.

Either way… she lost the farm, and should be moving everything ASAP…

I went to her FaceBook page… people asking her to PLEASE CONTACT THEM about the breedings they have purchased.

My guess is that any one that has money out to Jill is going to have a pretty hard time getting it back at this point. Better contact an attorney and get in line… she has a number of creditors looking to recoup their losses.

I don’t think SilverCreek was direspectful or mud slinging at all. I had also read some of the things said about Apiro (a few years back), and thought it screamed of Alters and someone with something to gain. That post was extremely graceful, anyone should put themselves in SC’s shoes and think how they’d respond. I doubt I could wait that long, or be that tactful. And I have heard wonderful things about SC’s reputation and they are someone I would do business with in the future. I cannot say the same for Jill Burnell and GFF.

While I agree I have given a raised eyebrow to stallion owners who bash others… I don’t think they should stay out of the discussions just because they have a stallion in the same market. The posts that make me wonder are ones that are constant and extremely negative, those I believe are noticed by everyone and the lack of professionalism is noted. I don’t find this to be the case of any posts I have read of SilverCreek.

It’s a shame, they have top notch stock. I hope all of them, and I am sure they will, land softly and get great homes if they do wind up all getting sold. It’s quite sad, JB could have done amazing things with her breeding program… She clearly knows her stuff. But it’s as if she cannot see the forest for the trees. I had a friend like this (not quite to this level), and it was amazing how many things she lost… and yet never cut down on her number of horses. I think all we can do now is hope for the best, and hope the word has gotten out so people do not continue to do business with her, especially sending their mares out to her.

People who have no idea what is going on with her. I mean, it’s not like she is being up front and telling them about this.[/QUOTE]

Nothing like a little riot inciting ey Sonesta? You really felt the need to post it on Jill’s FB wall. Assuming you just derive pleasure at other’s expense.

Actually, I get no pleasure at all from any of this. I think it’s a crying shame. But I am also not a coward. Nor do I sit back and watch as animals are put in a precarious position.

I know there are a lot of mare owners that have no idea what is going on and they really need to know so they can take care of their mares.

So bash me if you will. There are a LOT of mares that are going to need to be taken care of. Their welfare comes first.

If Jill has made arrangements for them, then she can post that and I will be the first to commend her. If she has not and has buried her head in the sand, then these mare owners need to know that as well.

The Internet needs more transparency. For instance, RoyParker has posted all of 10 times and every post far as I can tell about JB. We all know how many alters have been used by JB …so Roy? Who are you? Only ask because Sonesta well identified, easy to find, well respected breeder!

Beyond the who is RoyParker? This story in general is a sorry statement of how slick marketing, minimal direct info/inspection, little research leads to choices not based in many “facts”. I wish in fact folks had started talking earlier…red flags from pretty much the get go.

I agree I think there are a lot of mare owners that had they been clued in about what was going would have never gone along for the ride and now ended up posting their horror stories on this thread. It is not a sudden bought of misfortune its been spreading for years.

And Jill (or someone with admin privileges on her facebook account) has deleted my post (which, btw, just asked whether she has informed the owners of the mares she has leased that her property has been foreclosed and sold and whether she has made arrangements to move the horses).

That speaks volumes.

Hey, Sonesta - she’s gotta sleep sometime…

Well, I’m not a stalker. I was actually hoping she would make a post to at least let people know that she has made arrangements to move them all.

The really frightening issue is that many of the mares are due to foal soon. I do hope the ones that are not owned by Jill are moved as soon as possible by their owners. Same for any of the young horses that are owned by others.

Your post was still there a minute ago when I looked. There was of course no reply however. This really is a crying shame.

Wow, just looked at her list of broodmares and recognized one as one I went look at a few years ago. It was one of many i saw at a breeder dispersal from a friend. All I can say is what an irresponsible breeder Jill must be to ever think of breeding that mare. She has OCD in her shoulder, OCD in her hocks, and a CLUB FOOT! I know this mare was given away for free…I guess that’s how Jill ended up with her. She does in fact take a pretty picture so that must pass jill’s test. Pm me if you want to know which mare. I don’t want to post publicly as I don’t want to jeopardize the chances of this mare landing “softly” when this farm finally emploads.

Did you really think she would/should leave it? stick a cattle prod at her and what, she needs to explain herself to you? You don’t have a mare there do you?

Whats sad is that someone has a POSITIVE experience with GFF and we are called “alters”. Yet you all know there are plenty of people that have had positive experiences. Am I saying there is not a problem? No. But I hate bullies and that’s the only reason I post occasionally. Sonesta may be well respected, by COTH friends and maybe even others, but I personally would not deal with her.

I think the people with class are the ones hoping the horses land in a safe situation and aren’t wishing ill of someone who has gotten in a bad spot.

3dogs pm me if you like, the alters term seems to be thrown out a lot on here today. Must be the price one pays for having a different opinion.
