Help me come up with a Barn/Facility Name?

Okay I totally suck when it comes to naming my own stuff. And I usually regret what I come up with later (sorry Libbi…)…

I’m forming an LLC this summer sometime, I’m putting a small but busy XC schooling course up in my back/lower field and plan on allowing limited open schooling (I know, so stupid), plus planning on doing some clinics if I can find a clinician to come to our neck of the woods. Also a small-ish conditioning track.

Things I like: puns, grammar, law enforcement adjacent?, also obviously horses and dogs

Things here that could lend itself to the name: I’m under the flight pattern* for the Navy base so I get regular air traffic #soundoffreedom , I’m on an island but no water view, my property is a skinny rectangle, I’m getting small scale into Irish Draught and Irish Draught Sport Horses, all of my horses currently are bay (I already checked, Bay and Bay Horse anything is widely used, which is a shame because I am right next to an actual body-of-water bay too), my property is nine acres almost exactly, the only parts open to the public will be the arena, a side paddock, a track, and the back field (my barn will be off limits)

Things I want/don’t want: no cutesy, and something that is portable in case I move, ie no Island Farm or whatever.

*the only thing I have in the running is Flyover Farm, because it has a double meaning, relevant here but portable too.

I like Flyover Farm!

I can’t think of anything better than that. Interested to see what others come up with.

personally I would avoid “flyover” as the term is regarded as a pejorative term expressing a negative or a disrespectful connotation

I learned a new word recently. How about Volant in the name. Old Volant Farm can be changed to New Volant Farm.

I know it does and don’t personally mind it. Flyover country is my kind of country.

I can only think of Ariat Volants! However I used Google to see the meaning, and was surprised to find I had been mentally pronouncing it incorrectly. VO-lint versus vo-LAANT the way I thought it was.

Whidbey is in the rain shadow of the Olympics. Is there already a Rain Shadow Farm in the area?

I’ll look into that, but I hesitate because it isn’t portable.

If the name is primarily for the business, I think giving some indication of what the business is in the name is helpful.

Am I correct that cadets are LEO in training? Perhaps some play on cadet and training/education. Cadet Equestrian Center?

No suggestions, but you did pretty good naming your donks.
Could you work their names into something?
Odie Augie Training Center?

My own 2 Dogs Farm has no dogs. Never had, never will.
Name refers to a favorite joke DH used to tell.

Very generous to open up your place to schooling and clinics.
I’m sure you’ve got your liability coverage for people riding on your acreage set up.
Any clinician should have their own.
In these litiginous days last thing any of us need is a lawsuit.

Totally agree, hence looking for something with “farm” or whatever. I’m far from approaching anything resembling an equestrian center.

Charter Farm. It could refer to chartering a flight or the external use of your facility. It also has a couple other meanings.

Yes definitely, that’s part of what I’m working on this year is quotes for insurance, plus I hired an equestrian-specific atty to get all the behind the scenes part of an LLC covered, rules, operating agreement, the leased real property v personal property, etc etc. I was already thinking about doing my own schooling field but then learned there is no longer any XC schooling on the island (the local PC can’t get along with land owners and have been repeatedly kicked out of barns and properties, and we lost our large regional three-day annual event as well) and the closest open schooling facility is nearly two hours away.

I read that you said “bay” is overused, but “Anchors A 'Bay” (pun on navy jargon Anchors Aweigh) would amuse me for a long time. Or, The Bay Angels. Or, XC-Runway. Stealth something?

Oh I like Runway or Runway something. Nice!

True. Moon Shadow would be more applicable. Moon shadows occur everywhere.
