Help me pick an Ammy Friendly stallion for this mare

Interesting that Aslan is so different , I am waiting to find out if he is available fresh maybe too old.

What about Bliss his sock comes over his knee could he have splash gene ?

Any others come to mind that may improve my chances of color without sacrificing quality?

Bliss does not necessarily throw chrome.

Likely 50% since it’s usually associated with a white pattern, even if the white pattern isn’t necessarily obvious.

Cabardino could be an option. I wouldn’t necessarily call him a producer of ammy friendly babies, but he’s produced many hunters. I have two, both are good movers, both can be spicy at times but they do well in the hunter ring. The 15yo gelding is still showing in the 3’6" A/Os, the 6yo mare might move up to 3’ this year.
I mention him because he does tend to throw some high socks and belly spots if that’s what you’re looking for. But I’m not an expert on colour so I could be way off base there.

Although I would love color I am afraid there are not a lot of choices with color. Cabardino while lovely have been said to be spicy

Not that I have a huge sample size to offer, but we have a LOVELY 4 year old Cabardino in the barn - born broke, moves and jumps tremendously, easily started and brought along by an amateur. He’s out of a Rio Grande mare. He’s so nice that he heavily influenced my decision to buy a Cabardino in utero. She’s still shy of a year old, but has a bold, friendly personality and has been very easy to introduce to all the things you do with a well adjusted baby.

I personally do not mind a hotter horse, but neither of these horses are anything close to what I would define as “spicy.”

I would highly recommend Con Capilot, we have a STUNNING coming 3 year old by him in the barn. Did very well at the YHS and is as sweet as pie, very quiet and moves and jumps great. Throws a lot of white, this guy has a stripe and 4 white feet just like dad.

Just edited to add that your mare is absolutely stunning and pretty much my dream horse !

I would call the Cabardino babies sensitive more than spicy myself. There is a well-known and darn good spook in all of them, which is also what makes them jump the bejeezus out of everything.

My own homebred A/O hunter was also born broke and the easiest baby in the world for absolutely everything. Until the famous “Cabardino Spook” came out at around age 6. He’s honest as the day is long and will leave from anywhere, but god forbid you move the furniture on the viewing platform in the arena.

I’ve found, too, that you simply cannot get tough with them. No negative emotions in the saddle. Mine is very good at making me clear my mind and be present and let go of all the crappy stress from work and such. That makes him the absolute best ammy horse ever!

I may be able to get fresh Westporte will find out in April. He is supposed to throw puppy dog personality.
If not I am seriously considering Viscount

Thank you she is such a wonderful individual, very sweet and just wants to please

Anyone use Escapade?

I know of a local Escapade baby and he is massive and quite opinionated. He has a lot of white and mom had next to none and was on the smaller side.

Nice! Is the dam of your new baby also a Rio Grande? Sounds like a lovely filly!

No, the other half of mine is TB

What a small world, I have met this beautiful filly in person. Her breeder is my friend and neighbour Fred and her dam is a beautiful A Fine Romance daughter. The filly was friendly, sweet and self confident. A testament to her breeding and how she was raised.

Coincidentally, I also have a very level headed horse bred by Fred who is out of one. of her Thoroughbred mares, a full sister to A Fine Romance making him a half brother to the lovely mare in Small Changes profile picture.

Lets give credit where credit is due.

Yes, that is her! My apologies for not including more information in the last very quick reply. I’m glad you had a chance to meet her before she came home.

Any thoughts on Otamendi his videos of first show looked so quiet and rhythmic. Jumped well even at low height.

I miss Fred’s posts. A Fine Romance was an amazing sire.

I quite like him. My trainer tried to do embryo transfer last year to get a foal by him with his GP mare but it didn’t work out. I believe they’re going to use fresh from him with one of their other broodmares this year.

I was not wanting a chestnut but really loving him
