Help me shop for - blaze orange

Some of the places I trail walk are dual purpose with deer and turkey hunters. Wearing blaze orange on as many parts of the body as possible is my preference.

What I have - blaze orange jump pad, breastcollar, boots

What I need- blaze orange dressage pad, and western pad (blanket is preferred, I’ll put it over a pad)

I’m struggling to find the western and dressage. Can any super shoppers help me? If not blaze orange, visibility yellow is alright too (but I prefer the orange!).

ETA: Spoke too soon, I think this woof wear dressage pad looks like blaze orange?

I have two in gorgeous orange that I got from Schockemohle, but there seem to be plenty available online - Chewy has an ombre one LOL.

The oranges I’ve seen are burnt orange, not blaze orange. Do you have a link?

I’ve got an orange vest for myself, and an exercise sheet for my horse. Similar to these from Big Dee, but I’ve had mine for many years:

I go through some thicker, tighter stuff and would prefer no exercise sheet if I can. I don’t want it to get caught on something and cause a wreck for us.

Yes, the Woof Wear dressage pad will work! I have that and a LeMieux that is brighter than depicted.

This one:

For western, maybe this:

Can also buy directly through the vendor. They make pony sizes too.

I must suck at searching because I looked on all these places, even filtered by color and this stuff doesn’t show up. Thank you!!

Ah crap! They don’t have the orange in stock for the western pad. I’ll try to go straight to the vendor.

Yeah, Mayatex shows it in stock.

I don’t know how you’d feel about this, but we wear bells when riding during hunting season. Years ago I got these leather fobs, each with a snap and a large sleigh type bell. I snap one on the breastplate and it’s quite pleasant. Blaze orange is good too (we wear vests) but often blends in with brilliantly colored trees so the bell gives a heads up to the hunters.

I’m not opposed. I just don’t want to get shot or have my horse get shot. Some of the hunters are not thoughtful before drawing a bow or pulling a trigger.

Can you share a link to the bell/fobs?

You are my hero. I have the PRI orange one for the jump saddle but couldn’t find anywhere that had it for the dressage. Thank you!! EDIT gosh dangit this one is out of stock too. Gah!!

I wish! Mine are about 30 years old, and I picked them up at Dover, my local tack shop back then. When I get back in the house I’ll try to do a search.

Did a very quick search: try Trail Bells or Bear Bells and see if anything appeals to you. The bear bells are most like mine, but mine have a piece of leather behind the bell.

Now that I’m digging more into this - is PRI going out of business? They’re out of stock everywhere.

I ride in blaze orange tack pretty much all year long. I’ve heard so many horror stories of horses getting away and not being found for months later, and while I don’t know if the blaze orange tack would help, I certainly don’t think it hurts. I have ordered from these companies. I do have a purple set with reflective material on it as well, for something different.

I made the switch to biothane tack while living down South due to how quickly my leather tack would grow mold. Taylored Tack actually did custom reins for me that I absolutely love.

I use biothane for anything that is designated for trail use only. I have a headstall and both english and western breastplates in biothane. I love that stuff - so nice to just hose stuff down at the end of the day.

I just have to figure out if they make it in cob sized!

Thanks!

Working Horse Tack can do custom- just call them.

Taylored Tack can as well, and her tack is just lovely. More expensive but absolutely lovely.
