help! need (good) name for new bunny

I adopted a new boy bunny yesterday. My old male died a few weeks ago. He was almost 13 and lived a good life. His female companion wasn’t happy as a solo bunny.

New bunny needs a name. Desperately. I put the call out to select friends and family, and they responded with some seriously bad suggestions. For example, I am not going to name my rabbit Corn or Loaf.

So, take a look at New Bunny, and give me some ideas. Please. Before someone starts calling him Loaf.

He looks like an Oliver to me

speckles, sherman, buster

Wow I like his stripes ! I’m horrible with names, but cute bunny.

My english lop is called Bob the Bunny . Fits him though.

He’s adorable!!

Bentley
Biggles
Brinkley
Confetti
Dewey
Koko
Murphy
Raisin

He’s so colorful—name him Kodak!

Nice colouring… didn’t know there were tortiseshell rabbits! I’m not original, so:

Peter Rabbit

Peter!
Hops,
Rex
Calico (if it was a girl)
Hazel from Watership down The hero of the book
Fiver from Watership down The hero’s little brother
any of the rabbit’s names from Watership down (they were all named after flowers even if they were boys and most of them were, if you never read the book)

Uh-oh.

I forgot to mention one important fact: My female rabbit is named Petey. (She had that name when I got her.)

So perhaps Peter is a little too similar.

And Ms. Petey is a Rex. It would be confusing to call the non-Rex Rex. Or perhaps ingenious.

Please continue to spout forth with suggestions. Will try all of them out on Bunny. Except Loaf. Not happening.

how about Mr. McGregor the name of the farmer that Peter and his littermates used to go and raid. Or Potter, for Beatrix Potter

Clover (I had a Clover!)
Gromit
Bernie
Benjamin

Fido?

beatrix potter’s first rabbit was named Benjamin Bouncer.

Bogart, or Bogie. But not Bogue because that would be, well, bogue.

Hey–follow me here: your girl is Petey. One of Bogart’s best friends was Peter Lorre. See where I’m going? You can have Petey and Lorre!!!

Sum. As in “Everybody loves Sum Bunny sometime”

GoForth, Grayson, Clover

If he is tortoiseshell, name him Turtle…

Otherwise here’s a list to get you thinking…http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fictional_hares_and_rabbits

p.s. as a pre-teen, I had a pet duck (girl) named Waldo. Got as a little bugger, and it wore the name proudly for a year befre beginning to lay eggs:eek: So Waldo she stayed!

Loaf! Loaf! Loaf! Go with Loaf!

Calvin (the Calico)

Oh, I loved reading Watership Down. How about Fiver? Or Hazel? Big Wig?
