He doesn’t make me feel inadequate at all. Nor do i feel defensive. Though, i do agree that OP is a sales-pitch and nothing more. And like many …i think OP is the guy. I dislike being lied to…that makes me flinch regarding most things about the guy himself.

Is similar to Parelli, several decades later.
They made millions, wrote books and sold “educational” videos and had many followers singing their praise and paying to follow them “properly”.
There are consumers for that kind of entertainment, commercialism at it’s best and why not?

One of these days I will learn to click on trainwrecks circa the 150 post mark, and not when they hit 400+ and consume an entire morning.
I, too, once hosted this book in my shelves. Pretty sure it was gifted by some well-meaning but uninformed relative that saw the title and that classic long-maned, thick-necked Iberian allure and was 100% sure it was Right Up My Alley. It no longer graces my shelves but Mary Twelveponies sure does.
Not sure what they’re breeding Ol’ Beefcake to do…? Does the military still transport supplies via draft horse in Spain? Whole thing has some serious 1970s Burt Reynolds energy with one rear filmed from two angles and looped over and over at ever-decreasing speeds. And I’m sorry, but some of the very particular editing/camera angles of the stallion scenes are raising all kinds of eyebrows if not red flags.
Dollars to donuts this is the “master” himself and all of this is just an entertaining way to drink your coffee.
But, anyone producing acolytes that are this fervent about denying reality when it is categorically laid out in front of them needs to be called out. He’s clearly “aware” of this thread as per his social media “team”, and anyone with a modicum of equine-worthy humility would be on here tamping down the idolatry displayed by Benv. That mindset has never worked with horses. Even the biggest egomaniacs in the industry understand we’re all building on the work of those before us.
Make millions selling carrot-sticks, I honestly don’t care. Venture into cult idolatry to the point where people refuse to see the flaws of their Chosen One and I get a bit twitchy.

I did the same thing with a previously unhandled mustang yearling a few years ago - it’s nothing new and he’s not the only one doing it. I didn’t write a book about it or video it (poorly) to try and impress anyone. I was just making friends with the horse. As “millions” (to hack on the OP’s hyperbole) do daily.

In a way i always feel sorrry for someone who stands-alone and is surrounded by many loud voices. My sympathy turns toward the underdog every time.

Again I’m struggling to understand the point of the videos. If this gentleman is so so gifted. If what he possesses is akin to magic. It cannot be taught to the unworthy. To the unwashed. To the people who actually … gag 
use horses for riding or competition or just tooling around because EGADS you are only achieving that by destroying your horses soullllllllll. Through repetition… and DRESSAGE ( lol when did dressage become a slur)
I stand by my belief. The methods are akin to astrology and tarot cards. If you can’t see it you just don’t believe. Nothing is really accomplished except a short ego stroke (enjoy the slow motion!) indicating nothing really quantifiable. Yawn. Yes it’s harmless theater. It’s just not that riveting or impressive.

Until Pepperoni linked up with Linda he disparaged dressage anytime he could insert it into his spiel. Deb Bennett still does so as well. Which is funny because she cannot ride out of a paper bag. I honestly feared for her safety at a walk.

I too am wondering the reason for the persistence, especially in light of OP’s claim that Hempfling is now a life coach (or something similar - I don’t feel like scrolling back up for the exact terms) instead of a horse trainer.
Is he perhaps considering a return to horses and is trying to gauge his chances of succeeding in the US market? I mean, go for it, if that’s what he wants. The Black Stallion crowd tend to be suckers for an accent. Witness the “aw-shucks-Crocodile-Dundee-as-cowboy” that wooed so many to Parelli.

Well Mara you just don’t understand /s. It’s his magical ability to quiet the horny obese stallion and make him prance around with a lasso around his neck while he shoots his unfathomable energy into the horses core ALL THE WHILE not doing something so pedestrian or gross as training or repetition or (swoon) DRESSAGE 
. To what end ? No idea. I guess the magic horse energy training is a platform into teaching people to be better ??? Like @eightpondfarm said he’s harmless. He’s just not real interesting.

Should have taken a video last week and added some music. Would have looked similar, sans the rearing (and the music). I don’t like them rearing at my face. Or ever. Last year, my young PRE went through a rearing-at-me phase, and I made it clear to her that I had views on this.
To go back to last week, my friends who usually catch ex-feral Highland in the morning were out of town, but other friends who have a horse in the same field volunteered. Cool! However, they texted me saying they chased him around for 40 minutes and could not catch him. Swearing, I got out of bed/some work and schlepped to the yard. My horse, now in a running-away mood, spun and ran away from me. He usually catches like a normal domestic horse when you’re one of ‘his people.’ Without the aid of flutes or bongos, I wandered after him, my body language not dissimilar to Klaus’ in the video with the Lip (well, probably less 1970s Burt Reynolds and more ‘oh-for-f^ck’s-sake’ slump). One hand leading, the other driving, vaguely facing in direction of movement. Although the horse had a big-ass field to run in, he worked around me in a circle, at walk and trot, for five-to-ten minutes until he turned to face me, let me put the headcollar on, and we got on with our day.
Just needed music along with some slow motion filming and handy jump cuts. Definitely would have made me, in pajamas, look sexier.
