Patrice Deleveau and the Holsteiner Stallion Carinjo win the 300,000 GP of St. Tropez in France.
Second big weekend in a row for the jumping horses from Holstein as they won the Hamburg Derby last week as well.

Very convincing win, Carinjo is becoming a contender for a spot in the french team for WEG.

Yes , I like very much watching this pair Andy ! I think at this current point…they can win on any show in the world.
Are the breeders in France breeding with Carinjo much or has he been too busy showing ?
The owner of Carinjo (Haras des Coudrettes: HDC) is mainly focusing on sport, so he isn’t promoted seriously but Carinjo is available.
You can see 2 fillies: https://www.facebook.com/HDCoudrettes?fref=nf
He will certainly be in higher demand because of his exceptional results in the ring.
Carinjo is used this year exclusively for the broodmares from HDC.
Patrice is having three top class horses from those three are two Holsteiners. Lacrimoso is amazing! I hope he will be in time ok for to being qualified for WEG!!
Patrice first choice for WEG is Orient Express, coming back from injury and not certain to be ready in time, if needed Carinjo will make it to WEG, Lacrimoso will not fully recover in time, unfortunately.
Bayhawk, you really don’t want to post gloats about Holsteiners. If you do, someone might have to post all the 1.6 meter classes that were not won by Holsteiners, like last weekend’s $400,000 Spruce Meadows GP that was won by a Dutch bred AES, or the Hamburg GP which was won by a Hanoverian…
I like Orient Express also a lot! I will be going to Aachen that will be an interesting test before WEG and to see what riders and horses will come. You are right about Lacrimoso

Really Viney ? Are you really this petty ? Are you so upset about the near extinction of TB influence that you would resort to such a childish comment ?
This has to be one of the most stupid posts I’ve ever seen.
Don’t go changing your post now Viney. You got caught being petty and you revealed your true colors.
Who “hasn’t won something” …I can’t believe you…oh wait , yes I can.
Bayhawk the only reason you post these results on the Breeding Board is to promote your favorite breed. Otherwise, you’d post them on the H/J board where they belong. You are a one man publicity department for Holsteiners, which you breed. Why is this not advertising? You never post any other results.
Where did you find “hasn’t won something” that I am supposed to have posted. It’s not in my response at all.

Your actual words were “1.6 meter classes that were not won”. Hasn’t won something is the same thing and now you are just playing word games.
I don’t promote anything. I report successes on the book of horses I breed with. Shame you can’t report any success with TB horses and this is what it all boils down to with you…petty jealousy.
I have never posted on the HJ Forum…why should I start now ? This is a sporthorse breeding forum and I report on successful Holsteiner bred sporthorses.
If I was over promoting…I would not have just mentioned Calle Cool winning the Hamburg Derby and Carinjo winning in France but I would have also mentioned the fact that Lamaze won back to back at Spruce Meadows on the Holsteiner Powerplay recently.
Put your petty jealousy back on your petty shelf and quit being so freakin petty.
“that were not won by Holsteiners”–i.e won by something else. Having reading comprehension problems?
Powerplay did win 1.55 meter classes at Spruce according to their website, but I thought we were talking about 1.6 meter classes.
You’re the one who said that Hanoverians can’t jump anymore, but one just won the 1.6 meter class at Hamburg. That needs to be posted.

My stallion will go to Aachen, I hope you will like him (if he’s not sold before the event… prices are getting crazy for top horses)

Viney , are you like 10 yrs old or something ?
I didn’t say Hanoverians couldn’t jump anymore. I said they bred the canter out of their dressage horses. This is not something new…they openly acknowledge this mistake. Hannover always has a few top jumpers but not many. Let the Hanoverian breeders post the great news of their horse winning the 1.60 in Hamburg…I will be the first to congratulate them.
So you discount a 1.55 meter win by Powerplay at Spruce Meadows ? Then you also need to discount the GCT classes as well. Viney , you obviously can’t comprehend that 1.55 meter and 1.60 meter is considered the top of the sport. Do you know how many holes on the standard are left between a 1.55 meter and 1.60 meter ? You can make yourself look silly when you discover it.
I breed Holsteiners. I am proud of my breed when they do good. I can report on their success on this forum anytime I like… Just like you can report on the success of the rare TB that may do something good.
Quit being jealous of Holsteiners. Quit being petty and for heavens sake…get your nose out of the books and go and actually witness something. Being a book worm will never teach you much.

I’ll be pulling for you Andy ! Which one is he ?
Bayhawk, I admire your patience and appreciate your perseverance every time threads like this rear their ignorant heads. I see you as one of the few voices of reason for those of us who 1) don’t have an unhealthy emotional attachment to Thoroughbreds and 2) are able to read for comprehension.
There are others who have contributed to this thread (as well as others in the past) in ways that are educational to those of us who prefer to face reality and stick to the facts. Thanks to all of you too.

Thank you ! I have people ask me all the time “why do you bang your head against the wall with these folks” ? My answer is simple…if it helps one person understand the “reality” of what is REALLY happening in todays breeding and competition…then it’s worth it.
The method I have been taught and practice isn’t the only road…but it’s a proven road.
1.5 meters is right at 59 inches. 1.55 meters is just over 61 inches, and 1.60 is right at 63 inches. Since show jumping in the Mexico City Olympics had at least one jump of 1.80, I also converted that and it is not quite 71 inches. So did Aachen in years past.
I also looked up the Global Champions Tour, and the 4 that have been so far have 1.60 GPs. Were you not aware of that?
1.5 meters is right at 59 inches. 1.55 meters is just over 61 inches, and 1.60 is right at 63 inches. Every .5 meters seems to convert to 2 inches. Show jumping at the Mexico City Olympic went up to 1.70 and was won by an American TB for individual gold. There is a video of an ancient Aachen where George Morris who rode there comments that there was a 1.80 meter jump–or just over 71 inches.
Anyone who suggests that the jumps can’t go higher is wrong because there is proof that there were higher jumps in the past.
