Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear your girl has taken a turn - jingling like mad for both of you.

It’s a bit odd that they’re dragging their feet on calling the drug company. Especially because that’ll help you ($) and it could help other horses. Seems like as a vet, you’d want to do that?

Sorry to hear that there’s nothing great to report. Still sending jingles for you and your horse.

I think it is time to GET VERY INSISTENT that they call the drug company!!!

I really hoped to check in here and read a positive update. I’m sorry to hear that your mare is still struggling. And I certainly don’t blame you for hitting the anger stage.

If the vet and the staff are reluctant to call the vax company, or feel such a call is unwarranted, then I think they should say that to you and then explain their reasoning.

Sending you and your mare lots of love and jingles.

:100: this.

If there is something off with that batch/lot, the manufacturer NEEDS to know.

This is a common thing to report issues like this. That resident really needs to know that.

Update - ok. We are back on track. Rolling with the drug company and $$$ coming. Faculty is involved. We are good there.

Thank you all for your input and ideas on that.

My girl is getting another scan today. She is very uncomfortable. We are definitely at decision point in the next 24 - 48 hours.

I’ll come back and let you all know what happens at some point this week. I’m just exhausted.

Oh Sfbayequine, I’m sorry that you’re facing these tough decisions. I know that you’ll do what’s best for your mare, no matter how difficult it is for you. Such is the price of our love for these wonderful creatures.

Please forgive me for raising this. If the worst happens, would the vaccine company have any responsibility for the loss? I hope, truly hope this isn’t a consideration.

Thinking of you. Hang in there.

It is my understanding that they will only cover it if it was administered by a Vet as in this case.
This is why self administering vaccinations is not a great way to trim costs imo.

Hoping for the best and jingling.

Above OP indicated everything was and has always been administered by a vet. Definitely a reminder of the importance for all of us though.

Yup that’s why I stated ‘as in this case’.

Oops! Misread. Sorry

Yes. It’s one of the reasons why I don’t self administer, personally. Glad that the OP looks to be in a position to get money/is getting money from the manufacturer.
