Horse trailer questions?

Your trailer is nicer than some houses I’ve lived in!

@ThreeWishes, what’s the interior height of your gorgeous trailer?
And another question, really for anyone with rear-facing trailers: did you have any trouble teaching your horses to enter through the side ramp? I can see my mare: “Mom, I don’t get it. There’s not enough space for me in there.”.

Ohhh I’m not sure on the height does it no show on the schematic I know it’s bigger and wider and heavier than my Equispirit.
And I had no problem getting them to load they walk right in. They come in the side and then face the rear and calmly off load when get wherever I’m going. The only reason I bought a new trailer was because I had a terrible incident with my horse on the way to a show. I got cut off on the freeway and had to swerve hard. When he came off the trailer, he was missing a shoe cut up and bloody. every single trailer ride after that he would throw himself to the ground on every turn. No matter how slowly you drove I had installed a camera, so I would see him just start scrambling and try to lay down. so I opted for a rear facing and now he travels completely calm.

The side load is pretty spacious. Everything is bright and open and airy. And if you’re transporting one horse, the divider is telescopicing. You can shove it in and fix it to the wall, and they have an entire full stall.
Ps. When I load the first horse, I have the divider slid all the way to the side so it’s completely open then I put the divider across the middle and the second horse loads finee. It can all be completely done one handed.

Found it. It’s 7’8”
Honestly I just wanted something to solve my problem that I could safely navigate as a small person alone. It’s been perfect. Thank you @eightpondfarm for allowing this diversion. I think in the end all we want to do is to make the horses we transport as comfortable as possible and as easy for the humans that love them as we can.

I love how fancy yours is! Your horses roll in style!!
and thank YOU for sharing. Lovely lovely dreamy trailers. All of them. This has been enlightening.

Thank you. ! You know your horses’ needs and quirks. And how to design a safe space for them. That’s really our goal isn’t it ? Can’t wait to see their new chariot!

This was turning a corner at 5 mph. I spent so much time trying to get him ride calmly. I tried everything. Divider out. He did better but was so stressed. He travels so much better now. There was just no way to retrofit my old trailer into Rear facing.

I will say if you can have your trailer wired for a camera. Mine links with my phone. I never realized how crazy it is that we ask our horses to crawl into a box and be teleported to a new location until I put the camera in. Don’t stare at it! You’ll crash. But it’s a good indicator!

i’ll try your video again in the morning. All i got was scrollllllll. But, poor baby! omgosh…that he even loads says something pretty impressive about his character.

That was the crazy thing as traumatic as it was he would calmly load and unload. But he’s a unicorn. It’s why I went to the ends of the earth to fix everything. Horses are better than us.

A few questions if you don’t mind? I’m considering one of these. Is the tongue weight heavy since the hindquarters of the horse is in front of the front axle instead of over the rear axle? Is it annoying to have to put the ramp down and then open a door just to check hay or offer water? I’m so used to a normal escape door that I’m not sure about it. Thanks!

Yes yes and yes ! Super annoying ! The tongue weight is heavier. Especially with a small truck like my F150. I installed a suspension kit on the back end and it rode level. Without it, loaded down with 2 horses hay and supplies it was not ideal. It rides nice now. It took some getting used to. To access things. My old trailer was so easy. But my only goal was to get my horse to safely and comfortably trailer. I seriously would never have given up my 2006 Equispirit. But it stopped working. I’m getting used to this one. And my horse loves it. You’re very astute. That’s exactly my only qualm. The easy access

Yikes, a deLorean inspired window.
That’s just asking to be shaved off by a passing truck. The only thing I like is it seems pretty low and could be used as a step up.
Wonder if the ramp, stored under the trailer is protected from the road and bumps.

Thanks so much for confirming! I think this alone may keep me away unfortunately as I tow with an SUV (albeit a big one).

I think the side ramp also contributes to that. My old trailer did not have a side ramp.

Risa is the BEST! I custom ordered a 2+1 GN from her and it was such an easy process. I have since sold it and now have a Balanced Ride 2+1 with LQ. Her knowledge and quick response can’t be beat.

This is my trailer before it was sent to JBJ Conversions to fit out the LQ.

oh wow!!! i love it! you have an awning? Can we have a tour please?

The graphics …are those indicative of manufacturer? I like yours. Especially with the silver/black skin on your trailer. --it’s kinda funny to call that beautiful beast a ‘trailer’!
