The Mattes Emerald is here! My only kvetch is that the backing is white — but I don’t hate the rest of it. I’m going to go to a fabric store and buy some piping/trim to sew on the fly bonnet to match the pad, which I think will be a fun little project. Forgive the lumpiness of the fly bonnet - that’s Holden’s fabio-locks in there, and we had just finished an XC school. Holden’s big head doesn’t really fit in this bonnet.

PS Sweden has a pretty good sale going on, and free shipping over $200 to the US. Here I was proud of myself for selling three of my LeMieux pads, and then I went and bought five new PSoS pads. In my defense, three of them are jumping pads, and I really only have two good jumping pads at the moment. Two work pads, and then I bought the black “Stardust” sparkly pad for the jump schooling shows. Also adding dull rose and light blue pads to the dressage pad collection since I already have shirts to match.

Not dressage but I present my dressage horse going Eventing in our new colours! These are the colours I actually chose for my grey mare but this one ended up Eventing before her 
We still need custom boots for her but for now I like it! Matchy on point!

My trainer’s trainer was in for lessons today and ran a bit late, so I snagged a pic while waiting. This thread is to blame, I bought the Golden Bronze to match my darkest bay boy who fades from black to mahogany points this time of year
. It matches my stirrups the Venice Tech stirrups, found on the Eventing fav stirrup thread) in brown perfectly. I think I am going to save it for shows. It is shinier than it looks here. I’d love to have breeches that match it, but these leather Kerrit tights are the closest so far. Will probably do black coat/white breeches with it if I can’t find a closer match.

Yes!!! It DOES match perfectly. And I agree – photos do not do this pad justice. It’s so shiny and has a certain eye-catching gravitas to it. Any time I use mine I’m stopped by people asking ‘where did you get that thing?!’. Your boy looks fantastic in it. Did you get the bonnet too?
I didn’t find too many breeches that quite match the saddle cloth color; let me know if you find something. I did see a Pikeur on a consignment rack that was so close to the cloth color, but it wasn’t my size. I’ve been pairing it with tan breeches and a black top with a black/brass belt. Or all black if it’s not too hot out.

I decided to go all brown, except for boots. At the end of the test the judge told me it looked really nice.
