Okay matchy friends, I need some advice. I’m using the Pikeur Isalie jacket in caramel and a PSOS pad that I think is called sand and something else. The trim of the pad matches the jacket pretty well but I feel like the main part of the pad might not quite work with the jacket. I’m not sure. It can look very different in different photos. Any suggestions for a better pad to complement the jacket? Or if you think it looks great that’s even better as I’d be happy not to spend money.
I think that combo looks lovely!
Normally I wouldn’t suggest taupe on a chestnut but this would really make your coat pop. It would be interesting to see it!
And maybe there’s another source for it (or the same color in another brand) that’s NOT $195.
I prefer that it isn’t a perfect match,
(Note to self… Those sandy colors look suprisingly good on a chestnut!)
I love this combo.
That pad color is stunning on your chestnut.
I bet the le meiux in Minx would match. https://www.lemieux.com/us/lemieux-outlet/suede-dressage-square-mink-small-medium
I love this. And I like that they aren’t a true exact match
Earth tones always look good on a chestnut. They complimentary colours after all.
I agree that those colors look great!
I wore my Amore Equestrian coat last weekend at a dressage show! Ordered as Lavender but most people thought it was pink.
Really pretty!
I keep seeing the lavender Equestrian Stockholm pad in my FB feed and am tempted to try it on chestnut. I think somewhere in this monster thread someone was pulling that off.
@Libby2563 Love that turnout- really classy looking!
Thanks all for the feedback! We used that outfit at a show this weekend and got tons of compliments on the jacket and no apparent looks of horror at the pad/combo, so I will stick with it.
I saw a woman on a liver chestnut with an incredibly stunning shadbelly. It was a dark mossy or olive type green with brown lapels and points too I think. They looked fantastic!
More PS of Sweden “sunlight” from the last schooling show, it’s definitely a hit and a good complement to my plain bay boy. Also helps as we show in a dark covered and it’s hard to see him at the far end!
Stunning combination!
With the lavender coat, did you use a solid white shirt with it? I have this coat as well, but haven’t worn it yet!
I wore a solid white long sleeve shirt. Anything dark or short sleeve you can see under it. I own exactly one solid white show shirt so was not well prepared!
That was probably me in lavender on a chestnut. I think it looks good on her, and I just really like lavender. : Sandra Boos Photography.
Thanks, yes it is very see through.
Very pretty!!
I have to say, as someone who owns only white saddle pads for my liver chestnut, you all are making me think it might be time to branch out. Those colors are lovely!
Sigh. Earth tones don’t clash with chestnut…yes, the colors are complementary. But they all blend in with each other. So for example if you had a pair of slacks that were a warm russet color, you’d wear beige or tan socks so they won’t stand out.
If you want all your colors to blend in so that nothing stands out, then use earthtones on the chestnuts.
