How are your 2011 yearlings doing?

This is my yearling filly, Section B Welsh, by *Wedderlie Mardi Gras LOM/AOE and out of *Waxwing Curtain Call. Pictured at 11 months.

I hope to show her this year, though we missed the first show for various reasons, and it looks like our second show is going to fall during haying. Groan…

These are admittedly NOT great pictures of her, but you can get the idea anyway.

I was able to take some pics of our other Balou du Rouet yearling filly today.

Rideagoldenpony - You can’t beat the pony pics. Even a “not great” pony pic is adorable!! Love your filly

Wendolyn WF (aka Lynnie) will be in for a trim in about 2 weeks, so I’ll get more formal shots and a definite measure on concrete then. These are from a very informal stroll through the mare pasture last night…

The black mare in the photo on the left is 15.3 on her tippy toes. The chestnut is 16.3 and solidly built. Lynnie was 12 months on April 24th.

Absolutely fab! I took our yearling filly out for her first show a couple of weeks ago - FIRST show, FIRST trailer ride, she was an absolute gem and we even came home with a Supreme and a few champion and reserve ribbons

She’s definitely off the boil now though, but the next show isn’t for a couple of months so I am sure she’ll be back in shape for that one.

She is pure Saddlebred, mature around 16.2hh.

Since I saw this thread, it reminded me that I still needed to get shots of “our” girl before it got too far away from April (when she actually turned 1 y/o). So this evening we got these shots of her. She’s a purebred Arabian and I expect her to mature around 14.2 hands or so, hoping for taller, but hey, we’ll see!

She’s not owned by me, but I care for her and work with her so she’s “mine” so to speak, just not on paper. =) 2 years from now I hope to be able to put up pictures of a foal that’s actually mine!

This is what my yearling seems to spend most of her time doing

Or this…she took offense to my backpack

Purebred Arabian. She left on the day of these photos to go for some sporthorse in hand showing. She is a joy to be around. 13.2hh the last I measured her, so we’ll see what we get.

I’ll play!

I have not sticked him but he’s probably 14-14.2H. This was taken last week at his first show.

Here is DeLyra NHF (DeLaurentis X SPS Wega) - born 6/24/11.

I’ve not sticked her either but she’s tall…probably 14.3-15.1. This was also taken last week at her first show.

Ooh, North Hill, they’re both gorgeous!

Silvia, what a striking filly !

Not sure if this will work. Here is my yearling thoroughbred filly by Rock Hard Ten, out of a Grand Slam mare. She is 14 months in the pic and currently measures about 15.1. She is my first homebred and I love her so much.

After a good grooming and mane cleanup today I got a couple more pictures of Gizmo - he’s just a few days shy of 14 months

Sucking on some water

I think he’s patented this look LOL Because he did the same thing last year

JB - love, love your boy.
Have a Gatsby filly out of a Tb mare (very well bred for sport horse) - 11 1/2 mos: c. 15h in front, about 2" higher behind - so no photos right now, plus am not near her. Gatsby did a great job of adding height, bone and length of neck to my mare; also suspension. (Her previous foals finished 16h; this one will finish taller.) Very, very smart. Plus very athletic. She has very good, balanced, big gaits. At about 2 1/2-3 mos., she was found, very calm, on the other side of a 4’ fence from her dam - no scrapes, scratches, nor hairs left on the fence -so she had to clear it cleanly).
Good luck with your boy!!! Are planning on keeping him and showing yourself?

Thanks cmssera! He’s a keeper, always was planned that way  Hunters I hope

Gatsby is VERY good at adding bone in all the right places for the lighter mares  Gizmo is just a bit behind growth of your filly it sounds like - at 12 months he was 14.3 1/4 in front and 15 3/4 behind. he’s only marginally taller each end now. All height tests, from birth height to cannon length put him finishing around 16.3 or so, which is great. I’d love to see your filly

When she was a suckling, her photo is on Gatsby’s website as unnamed (name became Gaea - they have not updated the website). Hoping to get to see her in the next few weeks, but right now, tied down at work.

A friend of mine just came out and took pictures of my colt today. He was such a good boy. He let me clip his legs, bridle path, and whiskers without flinching. I couldn’t be more proud of my little boy.

He is not going to be very big, maybe 16 or 16.1, but is built like a tank and has loads of power.

Anyway, here he is:
He is by Lingh out of on Idocus x Riverman (Redfort) mare.

Mine isn’t so bad balance wise, she’s just thin. Ugh. But when she gets moving… She reminds me that she’s just at an ugly stage.

I should take pictures and vids of her… I should. Maybe. One day. When she fully sheds out.

Copilot I can’t see your link.

Alright… Danny isn’t quite a year yet… Friday though

He’s a doll!!! Such a sweet kid and funny! I love him!

He’s hopefully going to be my next eventer and so far… he likes to jump  We’ll do the FEH stuff in August, so… yay!

Here’s the link… it starts at one day old and finishes a few days ago… not quite a year old. Last time I sticked him he was 14.2 at the wither and 15.1 at the butt! I think he’s shot up again, but I’m waiting til Friday to check him again. I’m hoping (and expecting) he’ll finish up between 16.2 and 17.

Danny is beautiful! At 14.2 at a year or so, you shouldn’t have any trouble meeting 16.2 or so

I’m not a huge appy fan but gosh those wapaloosas are nice. Danny looks very sporty to me. Well done!
