How are your 2011 yearlings doing?
Yes, thank you, it does seem to be a good nick and the horses are definitely more than just a neat color. I can’t say enough about their sweet, uncomplicated dispositions either. The mare is really exceptional for crossbreeding which makes a huge difference.
Yes, I also meant to add that the Perch mare looks like just the right type to be crossing with a light stallion. That’s the biggest key, IMHO.

Great job!!!

Kathy - dings and scruffy? Whatchootalkinbout? LOL He looks wonderful

You are most kind.

Seriously!

My girl is finally growing and starting to look like a real horse. A few fun shots from the other day:

Well, my Rubignon yearling stood staring at the ground in the middle of a nest of red wasps as they attacked her from the bottom pipe of metal gate where they’d apparently made their home, wondering what in the world was stinging her. She’s fine, no swelling, but no lesson learned.

Cataluna, lovely filly!! I love her neck!

I got a kickass new confo shot of my yearling Oldenburg x Saddlebred filly this past weekend. I am so happy with how she’s developing!
She’s still on the short side, but now i am thinking that might not be so bad cuz she is soooooo incredibly quiet & easy that I think she will make an outstanding Junior/Children’s Hunter.

She is definitely going to be a jumper or eventer

my yearling (born April 2011) just sticked at 16hh - but his bum is higher - here are some pics - including some with his best friend - he is still a colt and by my gelding (was a stallion until 3 1/2). I am quite pleased with this cross.

My yearling just came back from her inspection with great comments. But as I told the judges: at a year-old, they look like crap and they behave like crap. Thank goodness, it wasn’t a show.

Thankfully, IMO, she’s gorgeous, otherwise… BBQ filly!

This is the best we could get as far as pictures are concerned:

The judge’s table’s umbrella completely melted her brain.

My yearling is a little superstar! (although, I guess you could say I am biased…lol)

He was foaled and weaned on the same TB breeding farm, and up until yesterday, has never stepped foot off the farm, let alone out of the yearling field where he was weaned to. Yesterday, we made the big move to my private barn, and WOW am I so happy with him! I thought we were going to have major baby antics leaving the yearling field (and all his buddies since he was weaned), but nope! He left the field, walked into the scary breeding shed, and up onto the trailer like a champ. (About 15 minutes of coaxing him on, but given the circumstances, he didnt act out, didnt step back, just needed time to inspect the trailer.)

A short 10 minute drive to the new farm, he unloaded like a pro (I thought he was going to jump off the ramp, but he just walked calmly down.) He met some chickens, a goose, a duck, some cats, and four new horses. He settled into a stall for a few minutes, even stealing a few bites of hay. Then we turned him out with a 2 year old, and their babysitter, a 17 y/o old pony. A few sniffs, and one big kick to the two year old (he deserved it after sticking his head right up oliver’s butt!!) and they all settled in.

Feeding time this morning, and they were all lazy eating grass in the far corner of the field. I am so happy with how everyone is getting along. And I am so, so, so happy to finally have him “home” where I can start working with him more.

I have two yearlings

Eglantine (Edelweiss de Bonce x Catch the Bouquet)

They both go through their awkward phases but are so well mannered and lovely to work with. They make me proud

Mine are both doing well! Neither are particularly awkward. We did a photo shoot for our website last week and got some great new shots of the girls!

Magnolia B: Redwine X Vienna – the first foal from the mare for us. She is going to be a bit small, but is a lovely mover.

India B: Couleur Rubin X La Sophie – we are so in love with this cross that we repeated it for a 2012 foal!
