How are your 2011 yearlings doing?

Don Rubeus (Don Frederico/Magic Ronaldo) I think he’d be close to 15.2hh … it’s winter in Australia hence the fuzz ball. And he’s 15 months old. He was a premie foal …

I’m quite proud of him actually blush He is the first horse I ever bred.

Madamlb - Nice to see some hairy ones! Mine are too hideous to show here. Your Don Frederico looks like he has a mane from hell - good luck getting that into some decnt plaits for the show season  !! He also looks a lot taller than 15.2 - or are you a midget?

I’m 5’3’’ so I am pretty little but he is bloody huge. I got a bit of a shock because he was a tiny, tiny foal and his mother is only 16hhl! And yep, mane from hell, I’ve tried somewhat to tame it but not having much luck. The babies are very fluffy but at the moment they need it. Hairy ones aren’t too hideous to show, you can just pretend they are crossed with yak

madamlb, I think your wee one will be taller than 15.2 - much taller.

she’s Sir Wanabi x Sandro Hit

I love her more and more actually, I’m even thinking of bringing her to Devon in the fall! We’ll see…[/QUOTE]

She’s lovely. What a floaty trot she had as a foal!

What a brave thread! Letting the yearlings have their own thread so that they can share in their disfunctional stage is awesome! There are some gorgeous babies and some enormous ones - Oh My!

Here’s my yearling - his first b’day is tomorrow 6/5. We just measured him at 13.3 - I know kinda on the short side of many of these youngsters, but Austin is an Arabian so he’s on the big side of his breed.

Magicaul Powers, aka Austin

ha … mine look like fugly little beasties next to all these gorgeous, refined, sleek young ones in their summer coats.

I don’t think the Don Fred would be over 15.2hh right now, but I’m pretty sure he’s going to make 17hh. I don’t want to sell him as he has a fantastic temperament and is just getting nicer and nicer as he gets older, but 17hh is way too big for me. His mum- 16hh- is my dressage horse. So we’ll see. Anyone want to swap one of their gorgeous sleek angels for my fat, hairy lump?

I know this is an older(ish) thread but I finally got some good pics of my girls!!

The first is my filly that I bred last year, Johzzalyn (Jazz - Rohdiamant). Thankfully, my girl has her dam’s temperament and not her sires (so far;)). She’s 14 months here, just had her mane pulled for the first time and was such a good girl for that. And man is she getting big!

The second is a pony filly I bought in-utero from Daventry Farms and I couldn’t be happier with her, her name is Daventry’s Cover Girl aka Peaches. She’s by Penrhyn Sporting Chance out of a Belshazzar mare.

Lovely yearlings everyone!!

I don’t have a decent confo shot to show, but I do have a trot video of my 2011 filly. She didn’t grow hardly at all over the winter so she’s still quite small for her age, but she’s sprouted up a couple of inches in the past couple of months and will hopefully continue to grow steadily the rest of the summer and in the fall. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcHLPIi9Z2k

Here’s my guy. One year the end of July. 15hds. Full brother is 16.1 at just four so I’m thinking 16.2 or maybe 3. Super sweet.

FatCat that picture is AWESOME!!! Gorgeous horse, beautiful little girl, fantastic picture - frame-worthy!!

Thanks JB! That was just a quick snap right out of the pasture this evening. This colt is to die for sweet. My daughter is 7 and loves the horses.

What a fantastic colour that yearling is! Breeding?

You have a gorgeous boy AND a stunning dtr? How awesome is that

and yes please - breeding? He reminds me very much of several Spanish Mustangs I have seen

Thank you again. He is actually Saddlebred (Spot of Gold) x Percheron (AK Schuberts Moon) a granddaughter of Blackhome Grandeur Lyn. The cross produces a happy medium of big lovely Baroque looking horses.

Here is a shot of the full brother from last year as a 3yr old. Sorry for the head down but I don’t have a shot of him not standing funny with his head up and everyone is so hypercritical on here. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e110/KPWebb/c0805830.jpg

And here is Mom who is 17.1 http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e110/KPWebb/7dc5096a.jpg

Well, I’d say that particular cross is working very well! I’ve seen some ASB/Perch crosses before and while some have been “eh”, many have been quite nice actually  The full brother is quite nice, and more than just in color!

Aerosmith d’Avalon (Argosy x Macy’s Rainbow/Mannhattan)

Since I wasn’t “mobile” last year, we still have a few of our babies. We’ve been working on getting some updated photos and videos of the kids and Aerosmith was the first on the list. He is by Argosy and out of Macy’s Rainbow/Mannhattan. Macy’s full sister, Maude RF (bred by Rainbow Farm/Barb Young) was FEI Champion for her very first I-1 at Dressage in the Rockies I ridden by Grant Schneidman, owned by Julie Hess! Aerosmith is registered GOV and was a foal of distinction at his inspection.

Please pardon the dings and scuffs. Our babies get to live out together and consequently, show the wear and tear of living amongst their peers <lol>. These pics were taken on Monday, August 6th. I don’t think he looks too bad for literally being drug in from the pasture for a photo shoot :D! Now I just have to update his web page :P. No rest for the wicked!

Yes, thank you, it does seem to be a good nick and the horses are definitely more than just a neat color. I can’t say enough about their sweet, uncomplicated dispositions either. The mare is really exceptional for crossbreeding which makes a huge difference.

Our 2011 filly was purchased last year, and is doing very well in hand for her new owners.

She’s by UB40 and out of Amulet ISF, and has been champion at breed shows twice this year, with excellent comments from the judges. She’s going to compete at the Rocky Mountain Series Sport Horse Breeding Championships and the Great American/ USDFBC Rocky Mountain Series Finals and RMDS Finals.

I’m really proud of all of them
