Does anyone know?
I take it something happened??
How is being down at WEG??
P.
Rumours abound… and that is all we heard, we did not see as it was exactly opposite us, in the alleyway exit, behind the stage from our POV.
I will NOT repeat what we heard on the shuttle… because it’s not true.
This is the ONLY thing I could find this morning:
Near the conclusion of the Opening Ceremony for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, a performer had an acute medical problem which required on site care. The University of Kentucky medical staff responded immediately, the patient was transported to UK Medical Center, and doctors have confirmed that he is in stable condition. No further information is available at this time.
I do believe this was the lovely rider on the “Western Dressage Morgan.” (sorry, I cannot for the life of me remember the rider’s name without the program!)
This would be Santa Fe, and Eitan? I have been given to understand that he is doing well, under the circumstances.
Yes, ASB,
See, even I just screwed it up. I misheard the announcer and thought the rider’s name (Halachmy) was the HORSE’S name. I just fixed my original post.
Was it a medical issue or a fall? (i.e. which came first–)
We kept remarking over and over what a lovely Morgan that is and how nice it was to see them in the Opening Ceremonies!
This morning the UKY Med is still saying ‘stable.’
I’d love to know the real circumstances, because there was one little horse having a bit of a meltdown at the end that scared me, but it was NOT the morgan by any means. (one of the West Point drill I think… a little bay from one of the drill teams)
I so hope he is ok. They are such a lovely pair and we really loved seeing them there.
Appears to have been a heart attack.
I heard he had a heart attack or some sort of medical issue while walking out of the ring and is in stable condition as of this morning in another thread. I hope the stable condition part is the truth as his performance was quite interesting. I didn’t know there was such a thing as cowboy dressage!

Was just coming back here to post that, yes. He’s in stable condition. jingles
I hope he is feeling better and makes a full recovery.
Oh no! Eitan is from the Northern CA area and performs at many local expos, etc. Always a lovely rider on a lovely horse, and I hope everything is OK!!
Reports say he is listed in critical condition at this time.

Oh, so sorry to hear. Many jingles!
I am jingling and praying for a full recovery. I noticed during his time on camera that he seemed subdued, probably was not feeling quite right. One good thing about where he was at the time, is access to excellent medical care.

Big jingles from NY! I’ve always enjoyed the video I’ve seen of Eitan and his morgan (s). Never had the pleasure of seeing it person, and hope I do in the future!!!
