Curious what folks are paying for this mandated blood test this year.
I just had one done for $32
(When I lived in Arizona they were not required… is that the case anywhere else?)
$37 in VA
$35 in Florida
I don’t believe they are required unless you show or trailer off property ( boarding, riding, moving etc). I only get them when we move.
$25.00 in VT when my vet is in the area with a split farm call.
$23.00 in Mississippi plus a split farm call.
36.50 in texas
I paid about $80 for a coggins, plus the call fee. But I am in Southern Ontario.
FYI, there was a positive test in NY recently.
I am always amazed that I can call our vet who has spent untold hundreds of thousands of dollars to earn their degree and they show up in a truck that is carrying a few hundred thousands of dollars of equipment and supplies and the bill isn’t a few thousand dollars
$38 in PA.
I think it was $33 this last time. I had it pulled while he was in the clinic for surgery so no farm call.
$40 at track in MD
$25 for Coggins and $10 for Health Certificate in Kentucky.
$70 + call fee in SoCal last January. We don’t need them to travel/show in-state here, so didn’t get one this year.
$32 in Central PA.
Usually runs in the $25-35 range down here (for the digital ones - less than $20 for the paper ones). But, when I had one pulled on my new filly before she left Arizona, I was charged $85…for a paper Coggins…I nearly hit the floor when I got the bill (total for vaccines, Coggins, health certificate, and farm call was $400 - I had my vet here come out a month later to do second round of shots and the total bill was under $70). Even my vet was shocked that someone would charge THAT much for a Coggins, especially while using the outdated paper version.
Since when are paper versions outdated? I have no problem using them for shipping or entries. The paper versions can be scanned and become digitized. There is nothing wrong with the digital Coggins product, just that it costs more. However, it is not the standard and definitely not outdated.
$75 Canadian in Alberta, I think that’s around $3k US with the current exchange rate.
