How to look slim and trim in riding breeches.

I’m still going to the gym. Still eating yummy food. I guess I am lucky to have a metabolism where I can eat as much as I do and not look too awful. I still vote for dark colored breeches, they are more slimming and make more sense around horses who enjoy to cover you with filth.

Oh, I so relate. (and love Nacho too).

I like these with dark full seat

I don’t think they realize how we hang on every word of THIS ‘promise’…

“Featuring a Slim Secret design, these breeches offer a secret tummy-flattening panel to provide a silhouette compliment to any riding outfit!”

I do wish they had such magical powers, but they definitely help.
Good luck fellow Nacho lover.

I wear the high waisted ones, they help control everything better. I don’t have the thigh problem but do wear spanx in an attempt to keep the jiggle down (and it helps remind me not to slouch!). I have the ovation slim secret which seem to hold everything in better, but it’s not full proof.

BO remarked that i looked like I’d lost weight last weekend and asked me what brand of breeches I was wearing. (FITS with the deerskin patches) Must create an optical illusion, because last weekend i was about 4 pounds heavier than I wanted to be.

I like what the Pikeur and Cavallo high-waised breeches do for my “figure” (term applied loosely) The wide waistbands on some modelscreate the illusion of a waist and they’re so high-waisted, there’s no muffin-top.

I find any breeches with a “color block” style to be really flattering and slimming. Do you know what I mean? I have a couple of pairs that I got in the bargain section of a big tack store, and they had absolutely no branding on them anywhere, so I can’t share a link to them. They kind of look like this: https://www.horze.com/full-seat-breeches/horze-kiana-womens-and-junior-full-seat-breeches/36543.html or this: https://www.doversaddlery.com/riding-sport-empire-full-seat/p/X1-350023B/

Except mine have enormous pockets, not those silly little zipper pockets.

And vests really help slim up pudge. But that is only a seasonal fix, unfortunately.

I am reading these with rapt attention! Breeches either fit in the waist or in the legs, there really is no in between for me. I’ve got about two fingers between my hip and ribs, and even when I’m sometimes thinner, I still have a belly.

I don’t understand how people wear shadbellies. They have absolutely no forgiveness. At least you can kind of hide things in a normal dressage coat, but a Shadbelly just emphasizes that you have on white breeches right at your waistline. I’m nowhere near ever needing to wear one, but it terrifies me what I’ll look like if I get close to it.
