Hunter Class - is this tack illegal or unconventional?
Oh PUUULLLLLLEASE!!!

And pot meet kettle, didn’t you call the OP CRAZY in your first response to her? Yep, you sure did.
I most certainly did not. I said that if using a martingale makes you crazy, then hunter people are crazy. She is not a hunter person, said so in her first post. So that was not calling HER crazy.

I also said I think it would be crazy to show up inappropriately outfitted, but that her tolerances may vary. That was not calling her crazy either. That’s saying “different strokes for different folks,” which was the entire gist of my response to her.

I was politely pointing out that SHE shouldn’t knock what other people do. It’s amazing that someone could read it as knocking HER for what SHE does. That seems like a bit of a reading comprehension fail, frankly.

Please, do point out where I called OP a name. Please, go ahead! Because I’ve been nothing but polite notwithstanding the OP’s derision of a discipline she admittedly knows nothing about but plans to go show in.

omg everyone get a grip.

there seems to be a lot of butthurt going around  (my new phrase- I’m like a 6th grader).

I am just stating my opinion, as is the point of a public social media forum. I think there are many very aggressive and defensive people here (and my point was proven by the response lol) who are not welcoming in the least bit to new posters. One of the reasons I do not post often.

Haha!

Right, but opinions are like…what is it again? Everybody has one, and simply because it’s yours doesn’t make it beyond dissection, questioning, or criticism. Thinking that regulars on these forums are mean to posters on the grounds that they are new is an opinion. Certainly, you’re entitled to it. In general, I disagree.

In fairness, though, you did say that another poster “called OP crazy.” That’s not really an opinion. It’s a provable claim. It either happened, or it didn’t, right? I can be of the opinion that 9/11 was a hoax, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t evidence to show I’m wrong.

Slow morning at work…

I mean this in the politest way possible, but what exactly is your point?

I never stated “please don’t dissect my post” I simply stated why I was posting… SHEEEESH!! And you’re right, it wasn’t directly stated " YOU ARE CRAZY" so that’s my fault, I didn’t take notes  but i believe it was clearly implied.

There does seem to be a good case of the grumps going around. I’m wondering if anybody else is recovering from the same kind of early respiratory flu that’s affecting our area. Cabin fever can make anybody grouchy!

I notice this a lot. A new poster can’t post without being called a troll or ganged up on.
There are other forums that have died because new members were ran off. I would hate to see that happen to COTH.

Her whole post just comes off as a bit flipid, asking, but maybe not actually open to the responses 100%, I got the snotty tone too, and I didn’t get a thoughtful tone from the very first post. I think when you come across this way, people’s responses to you follow suit. Maybe others read it totally different then me, and that’s ok too. We only go off how we read things on here, and when something reads with a tone, it usually gets a tone in response. Not saying that we shouldn’t all be the bigger person, but then this forum would be no fun at all!
“Flipid”? What does that mean? Is that a new slang?

Do you mean flippant?
