Noctis, will you be there?
A friend and I are going to try to make it … we’ve been wanting to a hunter pace for years!

I’m actually the organizer! Its my baby and I can’t WAIT to see how many people show up! You’re going to LOVE the terrain, its amazing. It would take DAYS to ride the whole farm, and if the turnout is good enough we’re going to do a full series starting next spring!

Sweet! Super excited to hear that there’s a possibility of a spring series! We totalled our truck and heavily damaged our trailer in an accident mid-May, and we’re still waiting on the trailer to finish being repaired. Considering it’s not complete and we’d still need time to pick it up from the crash-site-turned-repair-town of Roanoke, I’m concerned we won’t have back in time for Sept. If we do, yours will be its first time back in use!

Cross your fingers we can get there for Sept. If not, see you in the spring!

My friend and I want to do it! We’re tentatively planning to do it as of now. It will be our first hunter pace! What is the dress for English riders?

This one is so close we have no reason not to go!!!

I checked out the website, do you have a short description of the levels? We def. want to be able to walk/trot/canter and maybe jump a few fences if they are inviting.

All paces have jumps available, and all will be VERY inviting. There is no required dress other than PLEASE no Lady Godivas, proper footwear and helmets required if you’re under 18 (appreciated on all riders, but not required for adults)

Beginner Pace: walk/trot pace, jumps available. Very inviting water crossings and mild terrain. Shorter length. Rolling terrain, WONDERFUL footing.

Intermediate Pace: trot/canter pace, jumps available. Very inviting water crossings and fairly mild terrain. Some added hills. WONDERFUL footing.

Field Hunters Pace: canter + pace with jumps available including uphill and downhill jumps. All jumps optional. Steeper (but great footed) terrain. Longest length pace.

Black Cat Run: Speed based course over mid length course. All jumps optional. Fastest time wins.

All other courses based on optimum times. Great prizes and good food!

I am planning to come and am bringing a friend! I emailed about the cost for stabling but did not get a reply- would you happen to know the cost for a stall (well 2 I guess) for one night? Thanks!

was it to marisa.goode@gmail.com? Because I didn’t receive anything! Cost per stall is $30 with shavings etc included. Try another email and I’ll send you the entry forms so I know how many are stabling total.

Will do, thanks! Maybe I made a typo :uhoh:

Picking up the trailer in VA tonight and we’ve both asked off from work =] Super excited!

Awesome Two! Just make sure everyone emails if they need stabling, we do have limited stabling. Legal, haven’t heard from you, and I did check the spam filters. Feel free to PM me or send me your email and I’ll send everything over!

Thats the link for the entry form if my computer is being a pain

Thanks for the headsup on stabling, but we’re gonna forego that luxury and just get up super early and trailer on over! Can’t wait!

Two, just send over an entry blank so you get the preentry rate! We have some great prizes lined up!

Waiting for one to come sound from an abcess, and then you can expect it!

Hi - I’m a newbie, from east TN. A friend and I will be attending the hunter pace, and I googled and found this thread. Any suggestions on where to stay nearby? If we arrive Friday, can we do a short ride to get the horses acclimated? This is our first hunter pace, and we’re very excited!

katy, the course will be closed, but we do have a large field to school in. The best place to stay will be any hotel around Hamilton Place Mall in Chattanooga, TN, its about 15 min away and there are quite a few hotels there in every price bracket. If you have any more questions, feel free to email me at marisa.goode@gmail.com. I will be out of reach until Thursday, time for my belated honeymoon! But please send entry forms and stabling info as soon as you can, we only have a few stalls left! And one form per rider/horse combo! Looking forward to seeing you all! If you send an entry by email I will send back a confirmation that it was rec’d, if you don’t get one within 48 hrs (after thurs) please let me know!

Still trying to get a few people to give me a definite answer!
I really want to come, I think my mare would really enjoy it!

Question for those of you who have done this before…is it best to maybe “bit up”? My mare can get strong, even at shows…so I’m wondering if I should do something a little more than my normal slow twist?

hmmm, well, I don’t have anyone who can go with me. Any other lone riders out there want a partner?
