There is a thread on Off Course going by somebody who wants to maybe move to Virginia’s hunt country and wanted to maybe meet some folks. She’s in the area Friday.
As I will be in town on Friday – working on a special section for the newspaper about the upcoming Virginia Gold Cup, and, since, well, I gotta eat, I offered lunch among friends at Crescendo around 1.
Anybody else up for it?

I also argued that Warrenton, actually, is the real center of Virginia’s hunt country, not Middleburg.

I’ve not even been to the new HoCo store. Where is the coupon? When are they open?? Apparently some seriously good deals can be had there.
Well, you had to buy a pair of Dehner’s to get the coupon! Not sure it’s a deal - but I blame you for my Dehner order because you put the bee in my bonnet when I asked about patent leather boot tops.
HC had a deal going so when I got measured, I got a coupon to the new store and a free pair of custom paddock boots.
I’m going to look fabulous. 
Broke, but fabulous. Now I’m sniffing out the ultimate bargain for canary breeches, a frock, and a used 32cm Stubben Roxane S - brown/havana. Keep your eyes peeled.
I’ll call HC and make sure the new store is open on Friday - it has funky hours.
I wasn’t sure I’d be welcome - evidently my writing style and strong opinions leaves some of the COTH posters either in tears, or about to burst a blood vessel. Didn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable.

Re: Dehner deal – my second-most-recent ex-boyfriend (Frenchie) got me Dehner’s for Xmas a couple years ago. That’s when I got the patent tops. He got the paddock boots. Loved (still loves) them, plus we (I) got a $100 gift cert. in-store which I still love every day since they had some overstock nylon lined stirrup leathers on sale – bought 3 sets.
A seriously good deal. Go for it.

This is, sadly, for NEXT Friday, April 18. I can still come, but won’t be workign on the Virginia Gold Cup section then (it’ll be all done) so will be coming into town JUST for this lunch date. Though, Wglen and Jswan et al, I will be in town THIS Friday so you could just about kidnap me for lunch al fresco from Jimmie’s if anybody’s in town.
HR - you wanna meet up for sammiches this Friday? I think the sun will actually be out - and my lawnmower is broken so I can’t cut the grass. Today is coop painting and readying day.
(you’ll have to help me cut up my food; I was trying to fix the mower yesterday and got my finger caught in a moving pulley. I was pleasantly surprised to find my finger still attached! I reminded Mr. JSwan that this is the very reason I don’t want to bale my own hay. Clumsy people should not work with machinery)

Unfortunately, I can’t. My schedule is so full with husband, horses, kids and other animals I don’t even have time to do housework.

Did someone say Food and Warrenton??? Hmmm, next Friday sounds somewhat possible…need a good hunting fix now that the season is over. Have wanted to meet some locals since most that I hunt with think Middleburg is the center of Horse Mecca. I won’t be hard to miss, I will be the one in foal.

Looking LESS likely that I’m going to be in town tomorrow. Will anyone turn to dust if we just do the April 18 gig with PropsPony? I have 10 am lessons and 4 pm lessons to teach at home, so thinking I might just ‘work from home’ Friday. Seriously, if there’s anybody who canNOT come April 18, I’m game for tomorrow but if we’re all on for next Friday anyway, let’s just stick with that. ?? Thoughts?
