In memory of November Rain

Seven-up—I thought the same thing in that they might have meant something besides the Olympics for the horse’s background. I thought maybe Special Olympics (which would mean a nice totally bombproof horse I assume), Young Riders, Paralympics or even World Cup of some kind, or not necessarily Show Jumping. I just glad whatever his background that he found a wonderful new home and will be happy the rest of his days.

Thanks for understanding I wasn’t making a cruel dig at anyone.

Super news! This has been the first thread I look for lately. Thanks to all those involved in finding this handsome boy a new home. Please keep us updated!

There was a very famous upper level eventer that someone found rotting away in a field and saved on the eventing bb.

There was also this horse, who stopped at a fence then found himself at New Holland

That’s what I was going to say… Many horses that have had amazing careers end up in horrible situations late in life. I don’t know anything about the horse or whether or not he actually DID do the Olympics but to say that an Olympic horse would NEVER be sold for $500 (not the person I quoted said this) is being quite naive, especially in these hard times. The horse looks terrible in the picture. Poor thing!

That is so awesome, Tazer! Thanks so much for doing that. Hearing things like this restores my faith in humanity

Can’t wait to hear more about Dux’s turn of good fortune!

Arcadien

Congrats!

Now that I read all the posts I am so glad to hear that this guy found a loving home… exactly what you both deserve - good luck with him I hope you enjoy his pizzaz

OH WOW…

just goes to show that looks can be deceiving, and even the best can fall through the cracks

Good save, Tazer

Dux is better travelled than I am!

I wonder who bought him in Rome and brought him to the US…

I’ll keep you posted as I dig up more info! This is SO exciting

Tazer, i have read thru this entire thread just now. For some reason I cannot get the first picture everyone talks about to come up for me. Would you, or someone else send it to me or just put it in the next post? Thanks. Sandy sugarpony@aol.com
I am so excited for him, and for you!!!

Yay Tazer! Dux has such a sweet face and I bet he is going to be thrilled to be pampered again! Those old stars never forget how special they are, even when people do. Can’t wait to see updates on him!

after reading this thread I am quite interested to see what he looks like. The original link doesn’t work:( Anyways, congrats and I hope you guys have a lot of fun together!

You should contact Adena Williams - looks like she is still riding in Australia on a horse named Still Cruising.
This is such a great story!

Thank you Tazer! You just made my day.

And to the Mods-sorry I posted the sale ad I was so caught up in the horse I never thought that it was an actual sale ad!oops! But thanks for keeping the thread out so we can all find out about “Dux”

Picture link? gotta look before I go off to bed. : )

Tazer, mind if I pass this on to Deon if I can get hold of him?

Do you have a pic? You can pm me. Deon is still competitively jumping.

Working on pictures

The sellers removed the original ad, the sale photo is no longer available on-line.

Oh great. Now I cant see his face!!! I will wait for your update with pictures. If anyone happens to have the original let me know. Thanks Tazer. now i can go to bed.
