Indian Art, son of Art Deco

We just bought a WONDERFUL gelding named Indian Art, by Art Deco, and learned that he was a stallion until last year. A USEF search has yielded a few offspring, and I’m wondering if there are more, just out of curiosity.

He’s only been in my barn a few days but “Indy” already has an extensive fan club! Lovely, sweet boy with a heckofa show record and stellar rideability.

Anyone out there have one of his babies? It’d be fun to see pictures!

Any photos? I’ve got a foal with Art Deco in her (with no color, but I don’t mind), but I love the line.

Pics to follow…Kevin gelded Indy? I love him and the cross we got was just fantastic!

Lovelovelove him. Bred a Babamist mare to him 6 years ago- lovely colt, but has a parrot mouth that bothers him not one whit. Sue Moessner (Paragon Farms) has a few of his offspring that are amazing -one won AECs at Nov a few years ago I believe.

Here is a link to a pic of him 2 weeks ago…

Indy should be a barn favorite. My son rode him bareback, with a halter when my son was very young. Kind, sweet stallion. I bred for that temperment, and have a nice guy on the ground. Enjoy him!

can we see pics of mister Indian Art?

Cute, annikak!

I’ll work on getting some photos of Indy, but my official photographer is out of town at present, so it may be a while. He’s LOVELY.

I have a half arab Indy baby. Here’s a pic of her at 2, and that was her akward stage:

And here are pics of Indy that I have when he was a stud. His temperment was AWESOME even then. I was so bummed when the guy that bought him gelded him. But I think they did freeze some semen on him.

What a cute face on your baby, chambe94! And thanks so much for sharing your Indy photos. I know I need to take some of my own, but it’s busy season at my place. We’re all still very much in love with him!

I have an Indian Art gelding, named Indeco, out of a Swedish mare. Indeco will be 4 in April, I bought him as a weanling.

A friend of mine has 2 Art Deco babies both coming 4 this year… Both are amazing. The filly she is keeping to add to her breeding program but her colt is solid chestnut but fancy! Look out for Etch-A-Sketch that is his name and he is being started this year hopefully for eventing…lovely mover too!

Imaxx-last foal sired by Indian Art!

Imaxx is the youngest of four stunning youngsters that I have bred and raised out of a BallyCor bloodlines ISH mare. [edit] I would love to send you pics and a recent video of Imaxx. He is just as lovely as his sire but is just 2 yo now as of 7/31/11. [edit] Actually I have pics of 2 of his offspring since I started another one who would be about 8-9 years old now

I had a 2008 Indian Art colt out of my AHS mare Winanda. He was a stunning mover and very gorgeous. Unfortunately he mysteriously died in his sleep one night in January before he even turned 1. He was a healthy and big colt up until then. I called him Ingo’s Art.

Here are some pics and video

Indy babies are doing well in Area IV eventing as well, including Going Tribal and Tribal Art.

A collage of pictures of Indy himself:

Wish I could afford an Indy baby!

Just curious???

Why was he gelded? :frowning: Seems like a nice fella.

He was gelded, we were told, because he just wasn’t getting enough mares to merit continuing to stand him.

You can see a current photo of him with his owner, my amazing mom, as well as read about my wish to know the two-legged version of him on my COTH blog: http://chronofhorse.com/article/indy-and-odin-men-my-dreams

Hey there,

I know I’m super slow on the uptake here, just found this post via Google actually. I recently purchased a 2005 son of Indian Art and was looking for photos. Glad I found this thread.

My guy is called Innuendo, he’s out of a Holsteiner mare, and he’s pretty fantastic. He didn’t get the color, sadly, but he’s still a stunning horse.

Anyway, happy to finally find some info on my boy’s sire

Fran

Ahh, glad someone bought Innuendo. He’s a beautiful chestnut. I’m always looking at Indian Art babies after Kevin showed me several of them. I bought my 2006 gelding, a black and white pinto named A Stitch of Indian Art last March. He had only just been started. We did some flat work last year and started jumping after the first of the year. Stitch is WONDERFUL and our trainer, Carli Curtis, has done a phenomenal job with him at our farm (Cliffwood Farm in Richmond IL). Here’s a little clip of Stitch and Carli. http://youtu.be/_wiFDfkGmUk

p.s. Please also take a look at my new website, www.maneinheaven.org. We have 4 minis that we are working with to do therapy work. They are like little dogs they are SO friendly! ~Jodie

I have an Indian Art gelding out of an oldenburg mare that is coming 4 this June. I just sent him off to be started where after two weeks I went to visit him and was told “well, we like to ride them down in the river bottom, I take them on trails and all the other horses are walking over logs and water, but he jumps everything” and also “we just ride him in a rope halter all the time, because he likes it”. Seems pretty solid after only two weeks under saddle. This little guy is smart and one heck of a mover, not to mention aside from his love of jumping (anything that’s in his pasture, barrels, tarps, telephone poles, regular jumps, you name it, he’ll jump it at liberty) and general showmanship, he goes on trails and will even push cattle (again, 2 weeks under saddle, I love him). Not to mention he’s an absolute lover who is always waiting at the gate for you. If his daddy is anything like him I would say you got yourself a fine horse.
My only question is this: how tall is Indy? When I bought this colt at 6 months I was told that he (Indy) was 17 hands, but he doesn’t look it in photos.

We’ve never put a stick to him, but I’m guessing he’s 17.1. He’s definitely a tall guy.

2012 Iknonic, Indian Art X Kipwin, the first frozen baby!! He is lovely-just like his daddy, super athletic full brother to Imaxx. This one is for sale, he is a stunning example of what beautiful, smart, sweet offspring Indy babies are!

Lilyart, Indian Art X Elaina (Entheos) 2008 mare, she is stamped by her sire in her markings, you can see the I A on her body. I have bred several other Indy babies…will try to post more pictures soon, sorry I am late on the uptake of posts as well.
