Individual Showjumping- Spoilers to come

Hickstead looks like a handful.

How come the Equestrian medals look different from all the other Olympic medals? They look a lot different then swimming and gymnastics?

Ain’t that the truth! They were both in it to win it and pulled out all the stops and gave us all a riding lesson. Today was Beezie’s day and I am so glad it worked out for her. Sapphire has been so darn consistent though, I would have loved to see her with an individual medal.

Eric and Hickstead were both amazing throughout the Olympics. I am so excited for them and for Canada. And so thrilled that Ian finally got his Olympic medal after nine tries!

And love that horse Ninja - beautiful horse and what a jumper!

Wow, the feed just showed closeups of the medals - those riders are taking home a big chunk of metal in their suitcases![/QUOTE]

I wonder if they have to pack them in with the horse’s equipment to avoid probelms with airport security!

Thanks to all who provided updates from the live feeds for those of us with nothing more than this thread to follow from.

Whew, it’s been real!!!

Princess ____________ who Hussein? Of Jordan? What’s her first name?

Ok, never mind. They are different on the back then they are on the front…

awwwww, Beezie looks SO happy!! She’s waving her flowers! and Eric’s waving his hat!!

That is so great - I love Eric’s expression  He seems totally thrilled.

Man, Eric is a typical Canuck.

He looks almost embarrassed that he’s up there. Like he doesn’t deserve it and maybe they made a mistake.

You go, boy!

is it sweat or tears running down his face???

and if ANYONE makes a snarky comment about where his hand was during the anthem, I will personally go to their house and put a bucketful of dead fish in your car!

So did Hickstead only have one rail through the ENTIRE competition? Holy IMPRESSIVE

If I have been in a jump off (I have) or not has nothing to do with McLain’s ride. He made a bad decision. He could have been much more effecient with his turn and stayed forward with balance to the last fence. I’m sure McLain is kicking himself enough that Geroge won’t have to.
Beezie showed him how to do it the correct way.

Princess Haya. One of the best things to happen to horses in a long time!

That was an awesome jumpoff!!! I’m glad I was able to watch! You know…I was sitting her watching the first round wondering if anyone was going to take the “bush” route in the jumpoff. Leave it to the Americans to take such a route!!!:lol::lol::lol:

Congratulations to Beezie! She had a great ride. And Eric Lamaze’s expression after the last jump was priceless.

I’m so happy for Eric. He seems like a really great guy who really cares about his horse… I can only imagine how incredible he must be feeling right now!

LOL!!!

My feed went wonky on me so I missed the whole medal ceremony. I was thinking though, I wonder who found his hat for him… LOL!

And way to go George Morris for having his team pull out all the stops. I just thought something unconventional from George Morris!!! Who knew!

anyone else besides me sniffling?

Haha that is not customary (sp) so NOBODY should be saying anything, and really to complain about something that stupid… c’mon.

Hickstead still looks like he has much more energy, what a good pony he was
