Individual Showjumping- Spoilers to come

does anyone know who the larger guy watchin is??? Maybe eric’s father?

Did anyone notice Eric kept pointing to Hickstead after his round - like he did it - not me!! It was quite impressive!

Yikes…Hickstead seemed to of been enjoying the medal ceremony as well. Put that thing away man!

I will be there too! First time at Spruce. Would love to see him ride Hickstead as well! If not at least at the Royal.
Nope, Tournament is at Palgrave. Lucky you though, haven’t been to Spruce. Yes, I was thinking about buying my Royal tickets now through the OEF advanced sale but I bet they have a special ceremony. Need to be there for that!

And you’re writing anonymously from Hong Kong?

Who was the grey at the last WEG that was um, excited? Was that Cumano?

WHAHOO!!

Wonderful!!

Congratulations to E. Lamaze for beating his personal demons and coming out on top!

Oh, thanks for the link. Princess Aisha of Jordan went to my high school, but she wasn’t a rider. Almost all of the family was educated in England, but Aisha and her brother came to Massachusetts for high school.

Drat - I wish they’d kept the camera going out back.

So, can we make snarky comments about the golden pony hanging in the wind with all his glory during the medal ceremony? Must have been one tired boy. LOL.

Me, me! What a super jumpoff. I just loff Eric and Hickstead, and always have. :D:D What a pair.

I cried during the medals ceremony. No matter who you are, nor how many silver spoons (or not) you may have had… Its a lot of wet saddleblankets, late nights, lots of sacrafices to be there. To even be in the ring. Im proud of all of them. This has been an exciting Olympics to see so much of the horse action. What a good note to end on.

Hooray for Eric & Beezie!!

I watched Eric & Hickstead the last 2 weeks at Spruce this summer. I knew they were going to medal if everything stayed on plan cause they were just so on it. How exciting for him!!

I tuned in only to catch the medal ceremony & how great to see them standing up there! It was hard not to get all teary myself.

wht a huge effort by eric and hickstead… it made me cry, just knowing how much it took for him to get back on top.

I cant wait to see them at the royal this fall. it should be incredible.

what a great team !

and a huge congrats to the silver and broze medalists… i was rooting for beezie for that bronze. what a great ride

The lack of a silver spoon in Eric’s case makes it particularly nice doesn’t it? Talk about a rags to riches story.

LOL yeah you’re right. I’m heading to the Masters. Suppose I could pop over to Palgrave too since I live pretty close by.

WAY TO GO ERIC!! So proud!! Yay for Canada:)

The larger man is Torchy Miller. He’s been part of CDN show jumping for a long time.

I doubt it is. I don’t even think Eric knows his father. He was raised by his grandmother?.. anyway, if memory serves me right, there was no father in his childhood! I think you are referring to Torchy Millar (no relation to Ian), the Canadian chef d’équipe.

I loved the tears and emotion during the anthem. And my !#$ PVR stopped taping at noon and I could not restart it. I ll have to tape the ceremony tonight because it is bound to be shown again!!!

Princess Haya. One of the best things to happen to horses in a long time!
You’re not a regular over on the Eventing forum, I’m guessing.

The larger man is Torcy Millar, our Chef D’equip
