Is 4health doing away with the Salmon and sweet potato flavor?

Has anyone heard this?

I went to purchase some today and there was not a bag of any size on the shelf. I came back to my office and went to the TSC website to see about ordering it from there and it is not on the website. Someone else in the office that feeds TOTW and thought about going to 4health said she thought they were discontinuing it.

Try calling Tractor Supply and see if they know or can find out for you.

I hope not we just switched Kahlua from the chicken and rice to the salmon and potato

Is the Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Salmon an option for you?

The Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Salmon is AWESOME! We have our dog on it and its the only food she has been on that 1. she likes to eat! (picky eater) and it doesn’t make her itch!!! Just picked up a bag!

I have no pet type stores in my area, closest is over an hour away. If I can find Natural Balance here, I will try it, if unable to get the 4health. Thanks.

I did try and ask TSC employees about the food, but it was a lost cause. Dog food? We sell dog food? They make dog food with fish? Did you say sweet potato? I just feed Ol Roy from Wal-mart. Etc…

Hey I work at TSC and if you want I will ask for you the next time at I am at work witch will be Tues. morning. if you want.

How big is the Natural Balance kibble? My dog is currently on Regal salmon and sweet potato, which she likes and does well with. She is a nibbler, and we leave a full bowl of food for her. Unfortunately, it is small kibble, and Fat Cat and Bad Kitty have also taken a liking to it!

Thanks Bear, that would be awesome! The guys at my local TSC did find an uber huge bag of the salmon and sweet potato (1 left), so I went ahead and bought that. I have a JRT and a Daschund eating it, so it will probably last them the whole year…lol (kidding). If the salmon won’t be available in the future though, I would like to know so I can transition them to the NB Salmon.

My dogs are nibblers too nevertoolate. I much prefer that over the gobblers though…lol.

I looked this morning and we had two large bags and maybe one small one . I will ask the person who does the ordering tomorrow if we will be carrying it for the long term.

Okay, so I asked the guy that did the ordering and he told me to tell you to call and talk the manger on duty or the reciever (the person that checks in products at tractor supply) at your Tractor Supply. They should be able to tell you if they will carry it or not. Also you can talk to them about special ordering the smaller size. Hopes this helps.

Thanks. I’ve tried speaking with a few of the people at my TSC over various things and it did not go well…lol. For 3 weeks they told me they did not have/would not get anymore alfalfa chafe. Then one day they have their stock room doors open and I see 2 pallets of my alfalfa chafe sitting back there with none on the shelf. I asked for some and they argued that they didn’t have any until I took them to the shelf, showed them the picture of the bag, then pointed to the pallets of chafe.

I guess I can try one more time though. Thanks!

I think Bearx2 is saying ask to speak to the MANAGER or RECIEVER, not the people out working on the floor. I can’t blame someone who does stocking and checkout for not knowing about what some supplier has or what’s in the stockroom.

I don’t know I’ve ever seen that flavor of 4health. Mine get the Small Bites type (whatever flavor that is.) I don’t usually buy their canned stuff (I get Retriever, Alpo, whatever’s reasonably cheap.) But I usually buy the smaller bags…I’ll have to see if they have the salmon in large bags. (I think the cat food has salmon, at least one does–I get the other as I’m told fish is not good for cats with UT issues and my one male had them.)

You really need to talk to the reciever, who is the person that checks products into the store, he or she should know what is in stock. If person is not helpful you might need to find another Tractor Supply. (We have some really good ones in our area and some really bad ones!)

glad to see someone else has inept TSC employees. I have spoken to the manager at my local TSC…worse than the employees!
Not all TSC are created equel.
Sorry for your situation OP, but wanted to chime in about TSC. I refuse to go to my local TSC and actually travel to go to one further away where the employees have more than half a brain.

Wow. This makes me thankful for the helpful and knowledgeable people at our TSC - most of whom are retired farmers.

4health doesn’t list that flavor on their website, suggesting it’s gone; however, I wouldn’t substitute Natural balance for it- Natural balance is of much lower quality, and many of their formulas are practically devoid of any meat, being nothing but overpriced bags of potatoes with a drizzle of meat for flavoring.

There are quite a few high-quality salmon and sweet potato formulas out there if you need that particular combo for some reason. If you like shopping at tractor supply, the obvious choice is TOTW, which comes in that flavor and is a high-quality food.

Are you near a Costco, OP? We buy Kirkland Salmon & Sweet Potato, which I believe (read it here) is made by TOTW, or whatever that acronym is. :o

One of those people was the RECEIVER and the Manager has not once been there when I’ve asked, or at least that’s what I was told.

The next closest TSC is over an hour away which is why I looked to see if I could order it online, but they don’t even list that flavor.

I will probably end up having to call the 800 number. Thanks.

My dogs will not eat the TOTW salmon. They will only eat the prairie version of TOTW, but after trying them on the salmon and sweet potato 4health, I noticed they were less gassy and had better poops, so I wanted to keep them on the 4health. Thanks for suggestion though.

I don’t like shopping at TSC, it’s just what I have. TSC and 2 feedstores with generic Lone Star type dog foods. Oh, and Wal-mart…lol.

I don’t even think we have Costco in our state. Maybe, but I have never seen one.
