I have to respectfully disagree!
My imaginary horse behaves ten times better than any one of your real ones!
That stuffed one is giving me a bit of a problem though…but the wiggle clonk only makes him lay down on the floor…

Quite frankly, the LAST thing I want to do, or put my horse through, would be to follow the likes of a bunch of Dressage Queens and what they do!
Hmmm…aren’t you guys in the wrong forum?
The video of LP with Barney is a good example of abuse!
All equine venues are capable of having some form of equne abuse.
My fundamental requirement is simply: ask and allow, do not demand and force…
As for the referencing dressage, well, the Parellis have hoodwinked WAZ into their fold. And the Parellis constantly reference dressage as part of their schooling…
Agreed…had a great ride today

It’s often said there are no rules about where a thread goes. Abuse was brought up by spirithorse and about how it’s everyone’s responsibility to do something.

So adding the dressage element made it worse?

What did you mean by it? What evidence?
The heavy handed use of bits, no matter what venue, inflicts pain and discomfort to the horse.
I was taught to never take hold of the bit and never let the horse take hold of the bit. Simple!
In dressage, the horses are overbent, behind the vertical with their necks being jammed into the withers and shoulders.
All it takes for the rider is to get off the bit is to stop being afraid of the horse and/or disrespecting the horse.
In western classes the horses are heavy on the forehand with head/neck carriages in unnatural positions.
As for the Parellis, they disrespect the horse…to them it is simply a sales device. That is evident in the way they make horses subjugated to them and their program.
“Ask and allow” is not just rhetoric, it requires great patience from the rider with the horse and requires great respect for the horse.

No, you don’t ride, you passenger. Big difference. If yo’re really real, you don’t know what riding is. You found the hat.

Go on, start your inane babbling.
Is that the best you have?
DIE, THREAD! DIE!
Disclaimer: This is a very old thread.

Note to self. Thanks. Nice you let us know this about you.
 You articulated what I was thinking much better than I ever could. LP needs to stay far away from Arabians. My Arab would calmly and quietly get revenge for such handling. That video was very troubling.

Why did you bump it up more than 2 years later? Or was there a spammer here and the post poofed, which is also very likely?
Californianinkansas bumped it then deleted the post.
Worst April Fool’s Joke Ever.
Re-opening this thread was a mistake. I humbly apologize to all of my fellow COTH’ers for my transgression. No excuses. Lesson learned.
