Is this to much Sparkle for the Show Ring???

Would the CO Jr8 Sparkle be to much for younger riders in the show ring? I’m old school, but many tack shops are coming out with so many new styles.

Far too much sparkle unless they’re doing jumpers, and even then it’s still probably too much! I’d go with something in solid black, maybe the Jr8 in black and gray if the helmet is for the jumper ring.

NO ITS NOT!! Sparkle ALL the things! I am a glitter whore lol

Are you asking if we’d wear it? Or whether anyone else would? I can’t answer the second question except to say I haven’t seen this particular helmet at the shows. That doesn’t mean I won’t see it at the next one.

I personally think it’s way too glitzy and gaudy, but I know I’m an old fuddy-duddy, so we’ll see what others say.

For jumpers not at all! I know a number of fei show jumping women who ride in the swarovski coated samshields. I love them!!

For jumpers, it’s okay. Nowhere else.

 Me too. I did notice that there were several sparkly Olympians! Of course they weren’t hunters but I noticed it in both dressage & jumping.

Funny, a barn kid had the black sparkle and rides in the hunters at local and A show levels with it. Hasn’t ever hurt her placing in a class.

A kid at the barn has one- she’s a low level eventer. She asked to show my old hunter in a hunter show and I asked her to ride in her solid helmet if she wanted to use him. It’s fine for jumpers but not hunters, IMO (yes- she rode I her solid helmet). I guess I’m an old school fuddy duddy.

Also there are several other helmets out there with more subtle bling, like this one: 1k Bling. Even that helmet you linked has a less-sparkly-but-still-blingy version.

For me… Bling is not the thing. But to each his/her own.

I’m very traditional when it comes to attire for the Hunter/Equitation Ring. So when someone asked me if it would be a good Christmas gift for their young child showing in SS, Hunter, or Equitation my first thought was no.

Really appreciate the feedback.

I’m not an old fuddy duddy. I’m a traditionalist when it comes to riding gear. It’s way too glitzy and glittery for the show ring.

Might do for the saddle seat show ring if you had a silver lame coat to go with it.

My friend has a navy one with navy glitz and it really is quite subtle in real life. It just gives out very small pings of light when the sun hits it. The helmets with the faux little crystals around the vents are much more blingy and distracting.

Be careful. George Morris’ undead ghost will come and haunt you if you wear that in the hunters!

Good first thought. Unless it is their fun helmet and they have others to wear.

If they are at all planning to do Equitation with it, NO. The Eq rules (105.1) say “Headgear must be free from non-traditional adornment.” I’d say a big sparkly stripe certainly qualifies. Actually, IIRC that rule came about after the blinging/striping trend on the original GPAs back in the early 2000s.

I think it’s way over the top and no, I would never wear it in a show. I suppose in the pony jumpers if I was 8 and wore a pink shirt it would go with the “cute horse girl” image…but bling is starting to go crazy. let’s not be western pleasure and keep it classy.

Silver lame’ coats are limited to walking horses.

Personally, I think it’s awful, but I do believe that you could get away with it in the jumper ring. I agree with other’s line of thinking that it isn’t very classy and George Morris would chew you out if it was ever worn in the hunter or eq ring.
