Just wanted to ask for jingles for Anne Erricker, who has been part of the VA hunting community for many years. Anne is in Fauquier Hospital with pneumonia and is not doing well. I am sure her family would appreciate jingles for her full recovery.
Sending Jingles from Richmond, I’ve never met her, but I have heard her name, always with respect.
Sending prayers and jingles to her and for a speedy recovery! Hope people will continue to send wishes her way to a true horse woman and knowledgeable woman!
Prayers & jingles from VA!
Here’s hopes for a speedy recovery!!
I will be thinking of her and wishing a complete recovery.
Sorry to hear the news, and sending my best wishes for a speedy recovery. I kept my horses with Anne and Gordon when they were up in MD many moons ago.
Update
The best guess right now is that she has pneumonia and is intubated right now. Will try to keep you posted on her condition.
Beverly, when did you board with Ann and Gordon at Seneca Valley? I was hanging around the barn from 1975 to 1980.
I knew Anne years ago when they ran Seneca Valley Feed. She was always a great gal & consummate horsewoman. Jingles for her speedy recovery.
I was there from 1976 to, gee, 1984 or 85, I think.
Prayers.
Xrab please keep us updated.
Anne is one of my all time heroes. Her and Gordon are/were the quintessential Virginia horsemen.
Make sure to share this thread of good wishes for her.
Thursday Update
Ann is still on the ventilator, but they are reducing the intensity or number of breaths to try and wean her off of it. She is still heavily sedated so we won’t know anything before tomorrow.
As soon as she is conscious will pass along the sentiments from the COTH. I know she will appreciate your concern and prayers.
Beverly, what were your horses names? Unfortunatly, I remember animals not people.
Well, yeah, ‘x-rab’ doesn’t ring any bells either.
Nick, little chestnut qh gelding, and in 1978, my sister shipped Simon, and his mom Sally, to me from Texas. Squeak hunted Simon a bit when he was little.
Monday Update
No real news. As of yesterday, she is doing a little better. Still tryin to wean her from the ventalator.
Beverly, Ann used Jim and I (Marilyn) to exercise Shannon, Clyde and any body else she deemed appropriate. I got to ride Giles and Klutz on occasion.
me too!
Saying a prayer for her too. I saw her at Upperville and didn’t think she looked “good” actually. Just waved. She was at a tailgate. What a character!!
Tuesday Update
Th word I got last night was that she was doing better yesterday, but when they removed the tube, she was unable to breath on her own. Tube was put back in and she is sedated again.
Sorry to see she is not rallying, hope things turn around soon!
I do remember those horses, x-rab- Giles was particularly a character!
Giles
Beverly, Giles was the firsr horse to teach us that horses could trot backward. We were out one day with Ann when she had Amber in training. I was riding Shannon and Jim was on Giles. There was a coop, bank down to a creek and up the other side of the creek. Since no one had been over the jump in a long time. Ann went first and said not to follow until she told us it was safe. She disappears on Amber and Shannon and Giles go crazy. In an effort to control Giles, Jim turned him away from the jump and yells at me to get over the jump fast. While I was clearing the jump, Giles was trotting backwards toward it. It was a matter of I jump, yell clear, Jim turns Giles and they clear the jump. He was the first “oh my god” horse I ever rode.
That sounds about right for Giles! I never rode him but did ride Amber once, man, that was a comfy horse!
Is this the same Anne Erricker who, with Gordon Erricker, ran a hunting barn out of Oakwood in Warrenton in the late 90’s, early 2000’s?
If so, I spent a lot of summers with her… it’s been a while, but I will definitely send a card…
