Don’t you know Odie is telling Rory all about how goofy humans are, putting that cast on a foot, then splint, shaving and washing it and just all such absurd stuff only humans could possibly make sense of.
Probably. And Rory is saying, at least they don’t pull your mane!!

Right!
OK, DH trimmed Odie’s feet (under light sedation) and he did great. OK, so he sat on DH a couple times, but whatever, he did great! And his leg looks great!
Also, after he wandered the barn, got into trouble, and woke up enough, he got to wander out and walk out for some grass.
Here’s the walking! Don’t mind the “sound of freedom” in the first part of the video, not sure what happened to the last half.
On Morning Joe (MSNBC on Jan 14) they have an alpaca and a donkey (I’m assuming a Mini), and it’s hysterical watching Mika Brzenski try and convince the little guys to come on stage. The Alpaca seems OK with it, but she’s having to try to convince the donkey to come on stage. I have no clue yet about why they have either live animal on stage.
I’m so glad to see he is continuing to heal
I am so glad Odie is doing better.
I am looking for a new license plate for my truck and immediately thought of Odie when I saw this one on ebay.
Hahaha cute.
Yeah, Odie is doing well. I’ll try to upload some pics, he is NOT fan of his splint getting back on and having his leg handled, but once it’s on, he is on fire :). And he does put weight on it without the splint now.
OK, not really an update, but it is a funny little video clip from today. We let Odie be loose in the paddock with Rory for a sorta supervised “conjugal” visit ( ) today… I had to yell at Rory a couple times for being a little too happy and being a little crowdy, but Odie held his own, tried to bite him a couple times. Once Rory calmed down, he went into happy la-la land…this went on for a while before I stopped trying to get pictures that did not catch him with his tongue out, and went to video mode instead.
As for updates, Odie is walking on it in the stall :). And objecting to the splint, of course.
Too funny! My gelding used to “eat” his donkey buddy. They must be pretty tasty!
Glad Odie is doing well!
Glad to see things are looking better and better!

Hahaha, it truly must be a gelding/donkey thing! Your donkey is lovely
Vet approved no splint anymore, at all whatsoever!
He’s a happy burrito! After this tame little hand walk, while he was loose grazing, he decided to go running and bucking down half the length of the arena and back. :uhoh: And today’s hand walk included hills, in the paddock, and I had my hands full with his jumping/bucking, piaffing, and trying to drag me around. Needless to say, he is feeling AWESOME!
And boy am I glad he’s a mini!
We have a mini donk too-Izzie. They are the absolute BEST. I love the little Odie updates on FB too. Makes our day.
Oh, and Izzie thinks he’s cute. :love-struck:
Looks like he is on the mend now and ready for more evil deeds.
It is going to be hard to top a broken leg.
WONDERFUL !!!
WONDERFUL !
Woohoo!!! So glad to hear it!!!
So glad that Odie is back to normal. I think you need to keep the Tent de Burro, however. Just because.
Well, he is staying IN tent de burro for a while longer, per vet. Plus, I don’t want to reinjure anything, though I suppose turning him loose to graze without having a hand on him makes me sound tres hypocritical…
But he’s so much happier, and starting to be so much more evil again :). He’s started digging in the tent, which is shredding one of the tarps we had pulled into the stall and under the mats to keep the wind out. And when I had him tied in the arena while I worked Rory yesterday (because Rory wigged out last week…you don’t like it, you get more of it until it’s a non-issue), he dug a nice little hole there too. And he is braying as soon as my truck pulls in, to be let out. I don’t think I’m special, I’m sure he brays for anyone pulling in .
Vet said Monday that he didn’t even want Odie’s stall to be extended yet for another couple weeks, to be 12x24, but he’s ultra conservative and I’m more about quality of life :). So the tent stays a bit longer for sure.

not really; it’s a far cry from letting him out to roughhouse with rory.
