Two fisted Burrito Jingles!!!
Jingles for the cute burritos.
Sending the burritos lots of jingles!
Horseless for a long, long time, but bought myself a curb chain the last time my BFF came to visit me and our local tack shop.
Fun fact - curb chains make a cool bracelet! And now I have one to jingle for the burritos!
Many jingles for the cutest ears in all the Lands.
Many jungles for the burritos.
Sending massive jingles your way.
Jingles!
Hoping for an update on how wonderful he is doing!
HE MADE IT!
He was still waking up when I woke up and texted the vet, and she was able to respond right away so talk about perfect timing. Once she got him hooked up to some extra fluids and I got the doggos outside, we were able to have a quick convo over the phone. As expected, all the teeth came out, she said the bone was pretty “gnarly” moreso on the right and that side should heal pretty quickly. The left wasn’t as bad but was still really bad and probably very painful so those went as well. She said the surgery went well, no bone fragments left on the after xray, no fractures which were the obvious concern, and she is very very happy with the outcome. Now he just has to wake up from all the drugs which will take some time so they all are hanging out with him to help him through the process since he had to go all the way down
We discussed aftercare yesterday and I made the decision to leave them there so he can get better aftercare than I can offer for a handful of days because gross It is definitely not like dealing with a pulled molar with some mouth rinses. I can do human blood and gore (not decomp) but animal blood and blood clots makes me go sweaty and urky esp from my own animals.
As expected, she did have to sedate Argie as well because he tried to tear her barn down. Poor Argie. I told her to expect that and he could have whatever nice drugs she wanted him to have on me.
Yay for Odie (yes?)!! And for support buddies who care enough to need a good cocktail. Hugs to the gray minions.
Hope he has smooth sailing from this point on!
Such great news!!!
So glad Orie did well. And his poor buddy is hopefully high as a kite chilling.
So happy with this news! Hoping for a quick recovery for all three of you.
Yes Odie! Argie is very attached, he would have run himself into a colic here at my place. It’s not a big deal when they have no expectations of needing to go anywhere like showing or anything and just chill at the farm, but times like this make it a little trickier.
The timing this week and weekend is just so funky for everyone. I work night shift Fri-Sunday night (so getting off Mon at 6am), the handycouple (it’s a husband and wife team) just messaged me that they want to come Mon to replace the two support beams that someone chewed nearly all the way through at the end of Jan when I was down with bronchitis, and since I decided the burritos are staying with the vet through the weekend AND my truck is going in the shop on Monday morning… I may not bring the boys home until Tues afternoon or whenever the truck gets done. My vet does canine human remains detection as well as all her other super cool stuff, and is hosting a seminar this weekend at her place, so she is also going to be busy-busy and trying to fit in with a trailer when there are campers and dog people scattered about won’t work until they all clear anyway. Of course she also has a maiden mare who is well past 365 days in foal and who will probably pick this weekend to evict her tenant too
Doing a happy dance for Odie!
The factor IS pretty bad the first day or so. Even though I used to be a nurse I really didn’t enjoy doing Oatie’s rinses the first few times. After that, it was ok.
