Jingles for Evil Burrito: post 774 COTH jingles worked again!

If you really want a giggle…

When Odie got gelded, he absolutely would NOT lunge. Very angry about losing his man bits was he. So, since I was still an avid runner then, clicking 30ish miles a week or so, I went to the barn in my running shoes and shorts instead of boots and breeches (Rory wasn’t under saddle yet anyway) a d popped in my ear buds or whatever we called them 15 years ago, grabbed a dressage whip, and away we went down the road. I’m pretty there are pictures of us on stranger’s FBs :rofl::rofl:

Find yourself a good trainer.
Local Driving Club/ADS/CAA chapter should have suggestions.
I started in my 60s & wonder why I waited so long :sunglasses:
Caveat:
I don’t agree with those who say when they can’t ride anymore they’ll drive.
Your ONLY aids are hands & voice, so it takes some skill & a well-trained Driving equine.

What’s that small-acreage layout plan called where they need to move around more? Travel Track? Ah, found it! Paddock Paradise … I think the idea is that every time they move from the barn to small portion of hay, then from hay to water, to next portion of hay, they need to do a bigger circuit of the paddock than walking directly. It’s probably not going to get them ready for galloping the Olympic cross country course, but maybe better than nothing if it can work for your whole herd?

After a few of the replies I did a little more searching in case anyone wants to buy one:

Pony/Mini Size:

Pony-Miniatures Sized Horse Drawn Reel Gang Mower Cart

Horse Size:

Tri-Wheel Frame Horse Pulled Gang Reel Mower

Or ask around your local Amish community.

:astonished: A bit rich for my blood.
But…
I’m very near a large Amish community & have done business with harness makers, trainers & bedding suppliers. Any of whom may know of a used mini mower.
:smiling_imp: Bugs, your days of leisure may be ending!

They are home!!

They romped and rolled and inspected where the new posts were installed and approved of the craftsmanship, and are in general settled back in. Odie is doing very well of course, he has a couple more mouth rinses for me to do but otherwise doing fine. Adjusted very well, even grazed on grass after he got off the trailer.

Odie looks none the worse for his ordeal. I am sure your vet is glad they are home :innocent::smiling_imp:.

I giggled thinking that to them the grass was probably crazy long since they had not been eating it for a couple of days while in prison at the vet’s place.

(Clearly the grass is not long at all.)

Oh they snagged some between trailer and paddock and THAT is long. I haven’t mowed in more than a week :grimacing:

Mouth rinses at home are going well

He’s literally rubbing his mouth in the dirt afterward. Evil burrito indeed.

Argie was very concerned he might be next, his little face :laughing::laughing: Like I would have been able to catch him, I always have to deworm him first.
