You still don’t get it do you?
Do you have any photo’s of your mare ? Would love to see her. Sorry I don’t think I caught what disciplines you ride/compete.
I would post pics of my mare, however I know you guys would just attack her like you’ve been doing and since your opinions on my horses mean absolutely nothing to me, I will have to decline. Thanks.
Well to add my two cents, THe Aloha baby I know is cute. Like I said he has a big head and ears compared to his Mom, who is a very elegant TB. His neck is higher than what I like to see in a natural born hunter and at 17 months he has a very short stride at the canter. Of course at his age he can still blossom. He is pretty easy going, has a bit of a spook, and does pin his ears some, but I blame that mostly on his owner who spoils him.
He’s the only one I know, and I was just wandering what he is like compared to others. I don’t dislike him, but I don’t think Aloha improved on the Mare any.
WOW, I posted here at the beginning of this thread and am surprised at the immature downward spiral it has taken. Perhaps that was the thread starters intention.
I guess its time to say, “Don’t feed the Trolls” on here.
Aloha is the next Hickstead. Hahaha! Good one.
So, I only really reluctantly decided to read this thread. And, as I expected, it quickly descended into a black pit of name calling and bitter nitpicking.
Seriously - before you all completely destroy the horse and his now nonexistent reputation, let’s give the new owners a chance to actually campaign him since it is clearly apparent to everyone in the world that the PREVIOUS owner did nothing with him except sell semen, and did a poor job at even that.
Now that he lives in Canada, he will have to compaign under much stricter rules. Canada does not allow any drugs on board and does actually test at shows (whereas the US Hunter circuit some drugs are practically staples, apparently according to one article I just read).
It may very well be with proper training, fitness and a chance to actually show that he might do well. Whether he does well or not will depend on what Aloha has. He might surprise you all. Or, he might not. In any case, let’s at least give the new owners a chance to show him and see if he can win any classes before everyone decides the horse is a worthless piece of junk not worthy of a pair of testicles.
I have never met the horse, don’t know much about him, and wasn’t really following this thread until today. I don’t care about his past. I don’t know his current owners or his previous owner. I’m not even in the same part of the country, nor do I follow Hunter circles all that much. All I really care about is the horse is now well looked after, apparently, according to some comments on this board, by new owners who actually give a damn about him.
Ok, carry on.

lol, I’m going to keep doing it since it gets a rise out of you people so much. Anyone else want to talk about confirmation? Anyone? Anyone?[/QUOTE]
Good plan. Be proud of being a bit less than fully literate.
Hint, using correct terminology might make you a bit more credible.
I always thought Aloha was cute. Not stallion quality, but cute. In that Children’s Hunter way.
I have never met him, but I know plenty who have spent time with him. Perhaps he was just being handled incorrectly (for him) and that made him neurotic and angry, but I hope, for his new owner’s sake, that he has chilled and behaves better now.
I have seen one of his offspring. The horse was very cute, cuter than Aloha. But it was still short in stature and has a really short stride. The mare isn’t like that. Conformation was okay, though.
I guess time will tell, but I thought Aloha wasn’t stallion quality from way before the Jill Burnell Super Saga began. The other three stallions are.

The horse was shown for a brief period by Peter Pletcher, one of the Top US Hunter Riders. I would think that if anyone could get the best out of the horse, he would be a suitable person to have done so. (How Mr. Pletcher was compensated for his services is yet another Jill Burnell special story)
As I said, Aloha was unimpressive at the 70 Day test he attended. At that point the horse was fit, ridden by people experienced in bringing along young horses, and given every possible opportunity to succeed. He barely scraped by to pass, and did not finish the final day of XC due to unsoundness. I certainly think the writing has been on the wall for a long time, that he’d more suitable as a gelding.

You really think showing ignorance is that amusing? Very sad…
But we CAN talk about confirmation. I just confirmed I’m having dinner w/friends this Tues. What have you confirmed (besides not knowing proper horse terminology, but still thinking you know anything about breeding…)?
Any thing? Anything at all?
Not into breeding at all, but saw this horse at the Royal and thought he looked really good. He was quiet and pretty relaxed from what I saw. Looked WAY better in person than in videos. Not a fan of his movement or jump based on the older videos as a “hunter”, but regardless, he did not strike me as an evil or aggressive horse. If he floats someones boat then breed to him, if you don’t like him then don’t breed to him. Not my preference, but I also think he is a decent quality horse.

So the confidence you have in your mare isn’t enough to weather any comments that might be made about her ?
If the opinions mean nothing to you (as you say) , then you wouldn’t care if she got attacked and a photo would be posted.
But I think you do care what people will say.
Post a picture or don’t; either way I just wish you had more confidence in your mare and your breeding decision.

Now you’re being a bully. Absolutely no one is required to post pictures and justify their breeding decisions.

Agreed.
I wouldn’t want to post a pic of my mare either.
I have NO dog in this fight whatsoever, but I am disgusted by some of these comments. I don’t know Aloha, nor have I ever met him in person. I have seen pictures and videos, just like I have seen pictures and videos of many stallions. IMO, from pictures and videos, Aloha is a very pretty horse, but that is ALL I CAN SEE, without meeting him in “person”. HOWEVER, if I understand it, he did “pass” the 70 day test, did he not? And isn’t that the be all and end all to many of the experts? So he must not be too bad?
The horse did ‘pass’, for certain registries. He did not finish the final day of XC due to unsoundness. http://www.nastalliontesting.com/index.php/results/2009
Despite the financial debacle that was Jill’s finances and payment for services. (LOL!) Aloha went from the 70 DT to Peter Pletcher’s stable. Seeing as how the horse was with one of the US Top Hunter riders for some time, even doing a stint at WEF it seems that he had plenty of good riding and opportunity to excel, if he were really all that special. Sure, he’s a pretty horse with a black coat and lots of white markings- but the rest of the usual criteria to warrant contributing to the gene pool really is lacking.

He wouldn’t be the first stallion not to contribute world beaters. So what? He isn’t a total POS, obviously he suits some breeders, seeing as how he is receiving mares. Why do you feel the need to rip into this particular one so much? That is the point myself and others are trying to make.
Sour grapes.
He certainly isn’t the first horse to do nothing more than complete the stallion testing either.
