KD Trakehners dispersal
Wish I would have had more money. There were steals there to be had but I was broke. I wrote all the prices down if anyone was interested
I’m curious, if you’re comfortable posting them. I’m sure others would be interested too. Were there any horses that didn’t have much interest? Were there any bidding wars?

You can see the prices here.

I was too. Which is a little depressing at the moment.

Handled going to the track and leaving with nothing well last week (nothing that really stood out anyway). There were a couple horses I REALLY wish I could have afforded. Oh well.

Mostly the stallions garnered the $$$, though I left after #37 (the Tanz filly) went through.

Most everything else went for $13,000 or less (most going for lower than $10,000). At least from what I can remember.

#1 Tiny Dancer $19,500
#2 Cassio’s Picasso $7,000
#3 Esmerelda $10,500- I really liked her
#4 Pumba $8,500
#5 Klaus $6,000
#6 Emperator $7,500- I thought this was a true steal
#7 Ally KGO $14,500
#8 Aspen $4,000
#9 Stormn Blitz $7,750
#10 Alastair $3,100
#11 Annabel Lee $2,500- I almost bid as I have loved the babies she has produced. Sold not in foal
#12Heartthrob $4,500
#13 Hedy Lamarr $2,750- sold in foal and is a state premium mare. Had to resist
#14 Sixtina $6,500- a steal for a horse showing pre greens
#15 Eclipse $4,750- this was an amazing hunter type mare
#16 Emerson $7,750
#17 Elinor $5,000- her photo did her no justice she was stunning
#18 Elmira M $8,500 sold bred
#19 Prima $7,750 this was a stunning mover
#20 Secret Storm $6,250
#21 Bella Mia $3,500
#22 Tinkerbelle $9,750
#23 Tempo $9,000
#24 Everest $5,750
#25 Ryan Patrick $48,000-stallion
#26 Ricochet Romance $16,000- high selling weanling
#27 Hula $5,000
#28 Ehrentanz $80,000-stallion
#29 Stormn Sarah $3,500
#30 Stormn Doreen $3,750
#31 Capulette $13,000 very fancy
#32 Casino Keith $32,500- 3yr stallion
#33 Cornell’s Schmidt $13,500- wow was what I thought of her
#34 Cassandra $5,250
#35 Cardio Pak $8,500- sold in foal
#36 Tanzmeister $7,000 this was a big yearling
#37 Tanz Maus $5,250
#38 Taiga $6,500- was a German import
#39 Amiga $8,500- wished I had the money as I could have had a buyer for twice that
#40Kalinda $3,300
#41 Kleopetra $5,000
#42 Scarlett $5,750
#43 Pal of Hudson $5000
#44 Triumpf $5,500- this was an embryo transfer from horse #1 and by stallion #25 this was a HUGE weanling that I was smitten with
#45 Piper $6,500
#46 Tiny Treasure $4,600
#47 Rosalita $6,700
#48 Nicolet $2,750- a little less I would have brought her home
#49 Nadya $750- felt bad. This was a 14yr 1/2 Arab 1/2 Trakehner who was small and sold open.
#50 was a big grey made who was showing on the west, east coast and in FL in jumpers 8yr. Was brought back as she was required to be part of the sale. $31,000. Went for a quarter to half of what she should have

Just want to say - don’t stress on the little Arab mare, I know who got her (not me! LOL) and she is going to an EXCELLENT home as a broodmare and will be well loved and taken care of.

I am so glad! I had to remind myself not to buy just because I felt bad for her

Thanks so much for posting these, Couture TB. I about passed out when I saw those prices. DEALS. Did anyone on COTH bid?

I was there and bid. I did not buy. The prices in many instances were reflective of the physical and radiological issues which were present. I was shocked and dismayed at the number of young horses that had check ligament surgery and foot issues. I did not look closely at the 4 yr old and older under saddle but the younger horses were disappointing to me from a conformation standpoint. I sincerely hope that everyone who bought online had reviewed vet reports and had the horses thoroughly inspected in person before buying.

Just a correction to Couture’s list: #13 Hedy Lamarr was not in foal. They announced it during the auction and preview. Super nice mare and still under value, but I think if she was in foal she would have gone much higher.

Very interesting, Tmo0hul. Thanks for sharing that info!

Yes I knew a few had check ligament surgery and that quite a few needed special shoeing. A few actually have extensive glue work on their feet

Also #35 Casio Pao was not in foal, in my opinion the best deals were #22 & #33 some prices reflect poor radiographs.

KD Trakehners just posted on FB that Kevin O’Meara purchased Ehrentanz with partners in a syndicate. I must say I was quite taken with that stallion. I hope they do well with him.

Thank you so much for posting the outcome of this. I have been stalking the auction info on this for the last month. I have the money to purchase–but have enough horses (and the place where I board is full, so I ccouldn’t just add another to the “herd” easily).

So the horse I was most interested in was Ally (and I see she went for a decent price). But after that I had “Prima” on my top list. Does anyone know why she went at that price? Seems low to me. I was also surprised about Amiga’s price (another on my list). Sigh–I guess I should’ve just gone and gotten myself a deal.

I have liked this stallion since I saw baby photos of him that Kevin showed me. I am REALLY glad that he was able to keep him, even if in a syndicate.

Disappointing to hear that so many had problems. Makes me feel better that I didn’t bid, though the ones I liked were well or of my price range anyway. Casino Keith… I would love to get my hands on him.

Well I will say that I’m the one who got little Nadya the half-arab mare, and I am super excited to get her home! I was very happy that she went so low because I really wanted her and had quite a low budget. But never fear, she will be getting the best of care and hopefully producing some nice babies in the future! Thanks to Anissa for the kind words…we will get to meet her soon in Cincy!

I know she went to a very good home. I wish I could have gone…a few of them did really interest me.

Does anybody know how little POH (Pal of Hudson) made out? She just reminded me so much of one of my 3 year olds.
