Keeneland September Yearlings!

It’s that time of year again.
There are videos of some of the yearlings.
Hip# 44.Lovely, and look at that nice walk. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RM8J…3FqrWKXQbaMtJ4

I’ll stop now or I’ll be all night posting video links. There are too many nice ones.

ETA I was thinking that none of the Tapits really caught my fancy and then, one really did!
It’s not a beauty contest but for a 300k fee I would want a stunner as well as a good racehorse.

I think the one Tapit I like will sell very well. Nice breeding and lovely. Then again my favorites are seldom the sale toppers.

I think the Tapits mature a bit late, so don’t have the “wow” factor that some other youngsters have. But I could be wrong wrong wrong.

Well, my opinion certainly doesn’t coincide with the opinions of the people who buy Tapit offspring at auction so take it for what it’s worth. I’m sure his yearlings will continue to sell very well.

I’ve only seen the ones that have videos available and the Winter Memories filly was my favorite of the Tapits. There are
other sires that I just like better. Since I am an enthusiast and not a participant my opinion is just that, and quite irrelevant.

Ha!!!

My lovable senior boy, “Unbridled Lad” has made an appearance (in text at least) in the pedigree of hip #14.

He’s from a fabulous family and it’s so nice to see the generations continuing on with greatness.

I can’t get past #7. A Union Rags colt with enough chrome to knock a judges socks off. Wow I’d love to be riding him in a hunter hack class.

Good boy. Made the family proud. Sold for $700,000

Update. Bought by Spendthrift.

A War Front colt just hammered down at $1.9M to undisclosed buyer! Hip 27.

Mandy Pope landed a Tapit colt for $2.6M, hip 49!

The 7 figure horses so far have been predictable. Extraordinary breeding!

Hip #49’s Dam was a 2.6 Million dollar weanling.

Just for fun I’ll post my favorites and their sale prices or RNA’s after the sale, if anyone is interested in looking at pedigrees and (some) videos.

Union Rags has a whole lot of “blingy” offspring.

A full sister to Cupid went for $2.7M (hip 69).

IIRC, seems like many of the Union Rags are on the blingy side

These 7 figure yearlings are sure taking a leap that ROI will be even close including post-racing revenue.

At this point, I’m more looking forward to the Fasig-Tipton and Keeneland November sales

When it comes to breeding stock, at least you have a notion if the horse could run or not. Yeah, I know that on track performance does not guarantee shed performance but for me, a bit more than just looks and pedigree. Although I do like a bit of eye candy for sure!

Blonde question. I’m looking at the online enhanced catalog on Keeneland’s web page and it appears that not all consigned horses have photos? Is that correct?

WMW, that’s what I’m thinking. I don’t see everyone, but I’ve stopped and gandered so much I’ve lost myself. I wouldn’t turn down any of these kids.

That is an outstanding and moving colt. Really a “take charge” looking guy! Definitely a WOW.

Some great horses
Can’t wait to see how they do on the track.

Many (most) do not have photo or videos. Serious buyers attend the sale or have an agent attend. You really want to see them move and get a sense of their temperament. For people like me, who watch only because they are interested in TB breeding and don’t attend or buy, having video is nice.

“My” Tapit was RNA at 900K.
Hip#100 550K Sold
Hip#146 185K (Lovely Animal Kingdom) Sold

I’ll stop now or will bore people to tears.

Keep going --I love keeping up with the sale through you.

I watched the first 40+ today and, as always, I was gobsmacked by the prices. I did notice that there was not a single RNA in the first bunch of horses. Amazing.
