Wow. By dropping them both on the ground?
That’s a pretty distinguished combination for a horse’s bronc statistics.

Well, coming the rider of a horse with a wicked athletic buck who has had not choice but to learn how to stick, neither of those guys exactly have tight legs and secure seats . . .
Meh.
Between them, they have almost a dozen Olympic appearances, including a couple of gold medals for Philip Dutton.
So I think that would give any horse bragging rights in the paddock when they’re comparing notes about people they’ve dropped on the ground. Lol.
Which rider was it who almost came off on the landing side of a jump today, and then managed to get back into the saddle? That was a pretty impressive recovery! I think they interviewed her afterwards, but I don’t recall the name off the top of my head.
Yes, IIRC there was a blurb in the Chronicle and Boyd was quoted as saying he’d taken out half of the Olympic team.
Nice. Lol.
I don’t know if anyone else has posted this but Elisa Wallace has posted her go pro footage from the cross country…
Also Doug switched to solely Jumpers, so that’s another one. But it’s also the “gap” year in the Quadrennial cycle. This is typically the year we see the least and it’s a big year for the foreign riders to make a run for European Teams. Kentucky helps them traditionally.

Boyd’s interview after XC was hilarious.
i think that was the relatively young German Libussa Lübbeke.
So here’s a HUGE difference.
Check out her FEI record:

Per the internet, she is 24 years old.
That record would take SOOOOOOO much money, on many levels, in the USA.
Her parents ride and they breed horses. This is a prime example of the different ways to get experience in different parts of the world.

It looks like Bruno’s flag penalty was removed, which puts him in 7th and means all three of Boyd’s horses are in the top ten.
it is too bad we didn’t see much of that ride. Hard to tell when you can’t see it.
Wow!!
I didn’t think it was that bad – he just looked a bit labored last couple of jumps.
Thanks!!
The $400,000 5* Grand Prix is starting right now. It looks like they have a huge crowd of spectators there.
Just got home - is there any why to watch the re-runs if you only have a fan subscription to USEF? I Know this has been answered before but I am brain dead right now… need some Horse therapy! Do we know the winers in the 4* & 5* so disappointed to have missed it!
Very sad I haven’t managed to find a video of last night’s winner. Cashew won by 3 seconds!
I’m on USEF Network, and I can rewind into the 5 star, probably till the SJ finishes in a couple hours.
Irritating that the livestream feed isn’t showing a time clock/faults on screen for the Grand Prix
