Harry, Tim, and Boyd all on course at once. Can we get any more class out there?
Oh no, Falco!
Really a masterclass!
Oh no! A glance off for Falco. That must be the first penalty for that horse in a long time.
Oh no!! Tim is having a rough day.
I think Harry Meade is a worthy successor to WFP. Such a classy, sympathetic, efficient rider.
Agreed. He’s a joy to ride and seems like a class act.
commando is going FAST
Yes, the starter said “And that’s a false start”. I used to be the starter for a lot of events and I’ve thought a lot of riders today left the box on the one and not the go, but it’s hard to tell from the camera angle. I think Boyd annd Commando also left between the 2 and the 1. The starter laughed as she said go because he was gone.
I don’t remember the FEI penalty for a false start, but the USEA penalty has no teeth.
Harry meade’s two were 17 and 18 after dressage and 3rd and 4th after XC.
the only two horses to finish within the time
super impressive
I would imagine at this level of competition they just adjust the actual start time, because it looks like they use timers. If they left 10 seconds before, that would be far more egregious than the horse left the box before the starter actually said “go”.
Conner’s expression is lovely. Ears up and just cruising.
He looks pretty full of running still, too.
That’s definitely my favorite of Boyd’s string right now. Excited to see him hopefully (knock on wood) complete his first 5*!
Well, looks like tomorrow will be a battle for 2nd place. What a great day of XC! No serious falls and only a couple hairy moments.
I so look forward to this every year, but I have gotten to see too many falls, and I haven’t seen that many really. But for instance I can’t watch scary movies any more either. not horror just scary. I wind myself up so much and then look away. am truly losing it.
So pleased for Boyd. Gutted for Tim.
looks like Boyd and Harry still have 2 each in top 10.
I’m bummed that Cassie Sanger’s 15 flag penalties stuck. Would have been great for her to have a true clear.
Holding my breath at the end when Boyd was on course by himself - fearing he was going to have a “Boyd moment”, but he got it done. I get the impression he has improved his mental game a lot.
Enjoyable day watching sport. As always, some questionable production calls when switching between cameras/riders, but I guess I’ve gotten used to that over the years LOL.
A little disappointed we don’t have more of a US presence in the top 15, but not the year for it - no Will, no Tamie, no Philip in the 5* - how crazy is that?
I did just notice that Emily Hamel and Corvette are currently sitting 10th! Would be over the moon if they have a top 10 finish tomorrow.
