Kentucky 2025

Wait, even with Caroline P withdrawn, Rebecca Braitling is still on course. Why are we taking a break???

JK, that was a very short break. But still…

they haven’t taken Tim’s extra pointsaway yet…

His ticker says two refusals and what I think is a frangible. I don’t think those will be overturned.

I’m guessing riders with multiple rides will focus on the ride at hand and go up to the tent after to fight for points.

I wonder what the intention of the livestream is - to cover the top riders? To get more interest in the sport? To highlight specific combinations on course? Because it doesn’t seem like there’s a vision for the coverage.

dare I say it was better before CMH took over? The Dressage is much better, but xc is much worse.

Oh no, Matt! It feels like it’s been a few years since anyone’s taken a dunk at the Head of the Lake.

Unfortunate for Matt and Alderwood there with an impromptu swim. Glad to see them both up and headed home. Seemed like maybe they were a little out of sync/balance the whole way around.

What the heck. My TV just cut out and tells me ‘not enough memory to open this page’

Falco like “You can come with me or not but I will be completing this combination.”

Event horses are so cool like that. I had a xc lesson on a retired Advanced horse and had that exact feeling. He had locked on 50 ft back and I almost bailed when we got there, but he was like “I’m jumping this with or without you.”

I find this feeling both wonderful and terrifying at the exact same time.

hmmm… did Harry Mead cross the start line before the timer said go? What happens in that case?

I took a lesson out on the jump field on my trainer’s retired event mare. She goes whatever you do, don’t point her at anything unless you’re damn sure you’re jumping it, because if she sees it she’s going with or without you.

She was not kidding.

I think that’s the “terrifying” @Apocalyptic_Pony was referring to

Indeed when I bought the one I mentioned earlier I was warned NOT to aim him anywhere near anything I did not mean to jump, because if it was in front of him, he was likely to make the decision for me. And I do recall accidentally jumping a thing or two in stadium lessons when I did not get organized enough to steer properly!
