Kentucky 2025

I did not see that, but I will give credit to any spectators who are motivated enough to get out there early enough for the jog on Sunday morning.

Ali Kuhn was all smiles when presenting Little Hail. Love it!

several women with long flowing hair … how the heck do they get all that hair up under their helmet?

Just realized I got Ali Kuhn and Hallie Coon’s names confused :woman_facepalming:

We had grand plans to attend the jog when I went in 2022, but were so exhausted by Sunday morning that we scrapped that lol. I can only imagine how these horses, riders, and grooms feel.

Perfect weather, it’s cool/light breeze with plenty of sun

@JenJ I’m a fellow long-hair-haver and I get my helmets fitted specifically to accommodate my hair. I also use the tube hair nets to keep everything flat/together.

Especially the grooms, since you know full well they have been at work for hours and hours already this morning, doing everything humanly possible to make sure those horses pass the jog. And look good in the process.

Timmy looked so chill. Nearly loopy rein from Will.

Off the Record is such a handsome horse.

Dana Cook’s in the fashion version of the typical SJ outfit.

There have been a couple of people jogging who had tassels at the top of their boots, which seems like such a distraction for the eye to me. I wonder if that’s on purpose in case the horse needs a little help to pass the jog. Lol.

A lot of riders are sponsored by Fairfax and Favor (and have been for years) and are dressed for jogs by that brand. Their signature “thing” is boots with tassels.

I’m chuckling a little bit at the closed captioning that appears on the screen from the announcer. I can only imagine that “Chickens answers” is not actually the correct thing that should’ve appeared just now.

Freedom GS on a loopy rein too… but didn’t want to leave

Helmets are safest when the bulk of the hair is out vs under. In the 2010s I never saw anyone eventing with their hair up under their helmet. While I’m sure things are trending that way, I think a lot of eventers still ride with a neat bun.

Younger days… younger days. It’s one of those weekends of a lifetime.

Same!

Although I have found that the hairnets that go under wigs, also work really well. And they cost much less.

I have to say that the head on camera view really shows off some of the people who do not move perfectly straight. Lol.

I wondered that about the satin blue lining on the dressage coattails, if it was distracting. It was for me watching.
