Kentucky 2025

Ariel’s outfit is lovely, but I can’t unsee the tassels on the boots now that you’ve mentioned them.

These days, I often have the admittedly curmudgeonly thought that many people seem to forget that it’s a horse show.

Not a coat show. Not a helmet show. Not a boot show. Not a breeches show. Not a dog show. Not a golf cart show. Not a belt show.

A HORSE show.

Sorry! Lol.

Tamie with the all white bravery!

I would never do that in a million years. Not even if someone handed me the horse two seconds before the jog and took it away from me two seconds afterwards. Lol.

It’s like tempting fate. You just know a horse is going to pick that moment to sneeze.

Sorry to ask such a stupid question, but I have it on full screen and I’m not seeing any names… There was a woman a few horses back – maybe around 8:30 – jogging a stunning dark bay with a spectacular tail. She had on a white shirt, reddish-orange pants, and a matching scarf – short brown hair. I ldidn’t catch either of their names. Can anyone help?

Exactly right!

I do remember a year when Karen O’Connor won best dressed with Mr. Medicott wearing all white. They made a striking pair.

Did the announcer just say that the show jumping is going to be on ESPN?!?

That might be a nice alternative to any sort of sketchy internet connection to watch it online.

Very nice, especially with the coordinating white markings on the horse!

Yes, it’s been on ESPN all weekend. They have more commercial breaks though, as I recall John Kyle saying, so the coverage may not be as good. Sometimes they change the commentators, too.

Quite a cool historical throwback to see the military uniform in the jog. Back to the origins of the sport, indeed.

Uh oh. Off to the hold box for him, though.

do the Non USA riders usually jog first in the 5*?

or I guess, riders of nationalities not from whatever country the 5* occurs in, always jog first?

Phantom of the Opera sent to the hold box. Can’t say that’s too surprising, but I hope he passes upon re-inspection.

Yes. The international and US/Canada based horses stay separated.

I believe it may be related to quarantine procedures?

I love that comment from the announcer. “Happy Boy living up to his name!”

Yes, that’s what the announcer said before the five star jog started.

Damn, Falco also sent to the hold box.
