I’ve been broke and at other times quite comfortable.
The thing about being broke for me was the worry, always trying to get the most for the money you have. A spilled bottle of Show Sheen is a tragedy. A clinic or even a lesson is a luxury.
If I went to a show or event it was because I trained my cheap yellow or pink horse, cleaned the tack, loaded and drove the trailer. I didn’t have a groom to braid or a coach to help. At the end of the day I packed up everything and drove the trailer home and cleaned up after.
Money doesn’t ride the horse but it sure makes the other things easier…
