Does anyone know what is going on with Vitalis these days? I don’t think he has shown since last summer. Is he breeding? And if so, where is he standing?

Aren’t you a smarta**.
I did google it. And came up with the exact results you did. I guess I am blind, but none of those links appear to have current dates on them, nor do they give any indication where the stallion is now, or what he is doing, or if he is breeding.
perhaps he isn’t standing anywhere as he wasn’t licensed? http://www.eurodressage.com/equestrian/2012/01/19/jack-sparrow-accepted-vitalis-rejected-third-phase-2012-kwpn-stallion-licensing
He is licensed Westphalian.
Charlotte Jorst owns and is competing him now.

Wish she would also stand Nintendo.
Vitalis is available by frozen, saw an ad for him in one of the magazines I get. Let me find it and will provide a link or phone number.

To repeat my OP:

I am interested in what he is doing NOW. None of the links you have pointed me to address those questions.

Yes, I know he is owned by Jorst. And yes, I know he is available by frozen.
However, it appears that he hasn’t shown since last June. And since he hasn’t shown yet this year, I was wondering if he was breeding, and if so, where he is standing.
I will contact Jorst, but I thought someone on here might know.
Found the ad in the Sidelines magazine issue January 2015 Stallions and Breeding. The ad is for his frozen only.

When I spoke to her last year I received the impression that she would not be offering any of her stallions through fresh anytime soon. Maybe that will change if there is enough viable interest.
I found it interesting to see that Vitalis was doing I-1 at age 7 (and with scores of 70.0%). He went from the 6 y/o FEI YH test in 2013, to I-1 in 2014. That is an indicator of super talent, and a very talented rider, but he did nine PSG/I-1 competitions in a three month period in 2014. I can certainly understand them wanting him to take a break from competition after all that, and give him a chance to develop enough strength to match his talent.

For me, it’s also an indication of someone in a hurry.
(flame suit on)
Charlotte doesn’t stand her stallions for fresh semen. She had him frozen at Alamo Pintado and it’s for sale. She has her hands more than full with Nintendo/Fraktura/Adventure all being shown actively. It’s no big surprise to me that Vitalis is in the “back seat” this year. I don’t know if he is injured or not (which is what I feel you may be really asking) or being given a year to mature more.
The bigger question for me is Akeem. He was scheduled in GDF then scratched. Then she said she would do the CA CDIs (last week and this week) but that hasn’t happened either.
She went to GDF, now back to CA. She’s building a house in San Diego. Shes trying to get on the Pan Am team and european tour team. I don’t think I could handle all she has on her plate.

She won yesterday’s CDI I-1 at San Juan Capistrano on Kastel’s Adventure (KWPN).
Too bad! I loved watching Charlotte ride this stallion and had hoped he would reach Grand Prix and at least make the long list for the Olympics… I had heard through the rumor mill that this line has trouble with piaffe??? Nevertheless, would be happy to do eternal training level on a horse that moves like he does. Had hoped he would wind up in a more idyllic stallion yard as he seemed so sweet-natured and a beyond super entry mount for Jorst. Oh well - at least he will be available to make lots of babies. What a bunch of super movers Schockemohle has!

Akeem is a pasture puff, it seems
“Sadly, he is just turned out, probably for good. It is proving too difficult to keep him sound. But he has my pasture for his life, he deserves that.”

Wow, well that explains a bit having to sell Vitalis. Hope she had “loss of use” on Akeem.
Says in that article that Guenter was working with Vitalis while Charlotte was away. Would love to see video of that for sure! Maybe it will be included on his stallion marketing video - fingers crossed.

I’m pretty sure (though I could be wrong) that you dont get to keep the horse if you invoke loss of use.

What? AH sold someone an unsound horse? Say it ain’t so…
I had a nagging suspicion Akeem would turn up with a chronic unfixable soundness issue. He was a world class horse when he was on top of his game, and I don’t think AH would have sold him if he thought he would hold up.
I also hope Jorst didn’t pay much for him, or at least had a contingency clause written into that sales contract.
