LADY ELI
Another baby step forward.

Lady Eli worked a half mile on the inner turf at Belmont this morning almost one year to the day that she stepped on a nail returning back to the barn after winning her last race.

Chad Brown said he is taking it slow and going day by day with no race targeted yet.

Fingers crossed she comes out of this work with 4 clean legs…
Very impressive she’s come back this well. I wish her all the best.

Lady Eli’s next step.

She’s being pointed at the Woodford Reserve Ballston Spa Stakes on August 27th.

Sounds like her training times are improving and she’s continuing to do well.

Got my fingers crossed

Fingers crossed. She worked this morning in company at Saratoga and is still on track for the Ballston Spa on the 27th!

Lady Eli is entered in the G2 Ballston Spa at Saratoga on Saturday. The race is at 6:20 (EDT) and she is post positiion #3.

Rooting for Lady Eli but she does have her work cut out for her… Miss Temple City being the, IMO, biggest threat.

I thought she ran a good race & finished a respectable 2nd for her first time back.

I would agree… good race and she held her own and had good try. Not that it means anything but I was happy with her performance after over a year off

Won today in the Flower Bowl. Good to see her back to her winning ways.

And a nice G1T win with good company

Glad to see she appears to be back…

So happy to see her back in the winners circle today

Lady Eli is consigned for the Keeneland November breeding stock sale by Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency as Hip 466.

Wonder what she’ll sell for.

Interesting. I am no insider, but it does beg the question- did they think that she had done enough on those feet? Selling her through a sale where she is represented as a broodie makes me wonder.

Not that it’s a bad thing. Not at all.

What a race today at Saratoga in the G1T Diana Stakes by Lady Eli. She had high weight of 123lb, managed to break through the gate but was stopped by an assistant starter following Antonoe (who also broke through the gate and got down a track a bit.

Lady Eli was 5th out of 6 through 3/4 and started to move up 4 wide into the upper stretch where she was 2nd. Finished 1st by a head and survived an inquiry with a bump in the stretch with Quidura.

She just gutted out the finish to win. Most impressive

Remember that F-T Saratoga Yearling Sale discussion and pocket change???

Another try for Lady Eli at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale (she was pulled from last year’s sale).

I’m thinking that gonna need more than what’s in my checkbook

I’m not thinking she be racing next year (but what do I know). Wonder, when it happens, who she might be bred to.

Man I wish I could afford her! She is not only a brilliant runner, but what a gutsy mare. Class, speed and heart. I loff her :love-struck:

Galileo would seem a good choice. . . .

Will be interested on both accounts… what the hammer falls for (or RNA  ) and who she will be bred to.

She’s 5 this year so would be a bit surprised to see her on the track next year.

I loved her before her laminitis incident and even more after for her courage in getting through the laminitis and then winning races. She looks 'em in the face and doesn’t give up

The laminitic episode may give some breeders pause. Probably not enough to keep her from selling, depending on the reserve. It will be fun to see. It always is when great mares sell at Keeneland.

Watching the sale of Havre De Grace was great fun. She was stunning.

Zero percent chance that will factor in at all. She came back to the races and won, she can stand around in a field.
