So, I had a quick go with it last night. There’s a bit of updating to do when you first get it, but really you turn it on and it runs through everything and prompts you as it goes. I just did this while it was charging.
The set up is easy. Basically I’m going to be able to put it in the spot I want, turn it on, walk onto the arena, get on and by then it will be recording. You can stop/start recording from the tag too.
I stayed and watched what it did though, it does some Yoga moves and then starts looking for you.
It lost me once, but I just walked side to side in front of it and it found me again pretty quickly.
The zoom isn’t as close as I usually set up on the SS2, but it’s pretty good and did a good job of keeping me on the screen.
As I was doing it late evening, the sun was directly into the camera (I live on a hill) and the camera didn’t cope well with that so the video was very dark at some times but I adjusted the contrast/brightness on the video player on my computer and I could see it fine. Will try again today without the sun being so direct, and see what happens.
The only thing I’ve got to figure out is another way of getting the video off the camera. It’s a microSD card and I don’t like taking them out all the time and putting them into a card reader (fiddly), but there’s no cord to plug it directly into the computer.
