Darned if I know. It looks as if they were recommending the use of Traks and Hanoverians to maintain the characteristics of the horses in question, but that’s just a guess. Article is definitely worth some work.

Interesting that Ryan’s granddam was also a 1.6m showjumper from a rather different background. She was dam of a 1.6m jumper with 30.7% blood, too.

I don’t think either side has a ‘lock’ on getting/producing top jumpers; always the families and individuals must be considered, along with having some ‘breeder’s luck’.
