Lisa's Booby Trap

A little disappointed that there was no mention of Not That Brady’s dam, just his own record. They did explain that his last race was marred by a quarter crack. Was wondering if he picked up hoof problems from Big Brown. I was at his Belmont, and wasn’t it a hoof issue that day, too?
Still, he ran fairly well yesterday. Should be competitive this year. Not bad for a first foal to run in a Grade 1!

And yes, wonder where Lisa’s Tale is? See she was sold to trainer Valorie Lund - Turf Paradise - as a pinhooker, or for an owner?

And wonder if/when Lisa’s BT has foaled this year? Believe she was bred to Hard Spun. That should be a nice foal. (Oops - no that was her filly last year, just found this past year she was bred to Candy Ride. Both should be exciting. Hope all is well.)

Maybe Grade 1 company is a bit of a stretch for him? Maybe his people should consider NY bred races?

#CVPeg-Who are the “they” that mentioned a quarter crack.

IMNSHO, quarter cracks are a result of an unbalanced foot. Some horses can be very difficult to balance.

Don’t recall the sources, but heard it more than once this past week. I googled a few articles ahead and found one there, and think they might have mentioned it fleetingly on a broadcast.

Quick google check provides this one.

Not sure which source you were watching/listening to, but the commentators on TVG made a couple comments regarding Lisa’s BT, when talking about Not that Brady.

Good - glad it was mentioned by those in the know. I was stuck with Fox Sports for mid afternoon and NBC for the big races. No TVG here unless I pay $$$$ for the most expensive cable package.
Oh, and videos from Twin Spires.

Another second! :frowning: I missed the race, waiting to get to a video?

Still nothing on Lisa’s Tale.

Here is the video:

He ran well. I think this is his first race in almost two months, so maybe he was short.

He just didn’t have that final extra kick to hold the lead. Perhaps they need to practice transitions within the gallop.

Still no sign of Lisa’s Tale!

This article is from May, but no reason to believe it’s not still the plan… NTB will visit his big mama’s stomping grounds to make a start in Finger Lakes’ New York Derby on 7/20…

Thanks for the video…
Agree. These were $100k alternate claimers. Nothing to sneeze at. Alot of energy used to be sent to the front, and although passed in the stretch he did stay up there. His speed rating just a hair below the Withers, and his first race in 2&1/2 months. Looking forward to seeing how he goes this summer.

Maybe enough about leading all the way?

Again, transitions within the gaits.

Yeah, maybe try to rate him?

It was tried in a couple of his early races, with very poor results. NTB is definitely a “need the lead” type if you want him to give a strong effort…
